Our dear mentor, Dr. Holakouee, failed to make a distinction between morality and ethics. Now I attempt to clarify the two concepts. Hopefully the browsers will find it beneficial. Ethics comes from secular institutions, whereas morality is faith-based. Ethiopia al judgement is absolute and objective. Morality, however, is relative and subjective. Probably an example would be in line with our purpose. Drinking conflicts with our Islamic value system. The Holy Scripture says : "Do not approach prayer while intoxicated." Drinking is not, however, considered an ethical offense. There is some overlap between morality and ethics. Although people tend to use them interchangeably, ethics is more secular while morality has some religious connotations. thank you.
