I'm doing a master's in mental health nursing and you have explain it well. Postnatal depression affects more than 1 in every 10 women within a year of giving birth, it can also affect fathers and partners. It is normal to feel tearful or anxious in the first week after giving birth. If your symptoms last longer than 2 weeks or start later, you could have postnatal depression. Signs that you or someone you know might be depressed include: -a persistent feeling of sadness and low mood -lack of enjoyment and loss of interest in the wider world -lack of energy and feeling tired all the time -trouble sleeping at night and feeling sleepy during the day -finding it difficult to look after yourself and your baby -withdrawing from contact with other people -problems concentrating and making decisions -frightening thoughts - for example, about hurting your baby Many women do not realise they have postnatal depression because it can develop gradually. If you think you may be depressed, talk to your midwife and health visitor because they have been trained to recognise postnatal depression and have techniques that can help.

@@fortunapuscale8676 You are welcome. We need to spread more awareness and never be afraid to ask for help.

We need to spread awareness and educate husbands/men in general as they are the ones closest to the new mother.

Does this happen to everyone in general or just for women who gave birth?

It would be great if you could write your comment in Tigrinya because you are writing to teach Eritrean community who can understand only Tigrinya language. Because this is just Good for nothing. Thank you for your concern. Take care.

Welcome beautiful. It happened to me on my two kids post delivery and it stayed almost two years. The good thing was I already read about it before my delivery & it was easy to accept it. It was hormonal change. So, it also depends on how far the gap of the pregnancy on each child, and how much rest you get. I would say a lot, but the solution is to read, learn or get help or an advice from a professional. The key point for me, was accepting & exercise right after I delivered. May god bless you for sharing your experience, it will help others.
Wow this is so scary. I have been going through the same issue you described in your intro. I would physically see my kids falling or crying or driving off a bridge unable to react, or comprehend. Also after the delivery of my twins I have completely lost my memory. I forget my keys, I lose my phone, I forget name. I NEVER thought I would experience another person going through this difficult experience in my life let alone ERITREAWIT HAFTEY. I don't even watch your videos, I'm surprised this even came on my field. This is shocking but can't wait to hear what you have to say.
