Nice video mate and its nice to hear you found a way that works well for you, I think we often get too caught up in the technicalities of it all and some times I think natural instinct is best, I know I threw a lot better with my natural throw which looked terrible and nothing like what you would say a good throw should be but I got good with it all the same, now my throw is not the same and I lost that natural feel but I may re-visit the pushing style again and see how I get on :) Cheers!

A demonstration of your new throw would of been nice
This is an extremely good video! So glad you've found a way to throw better. I'm still practicing very hard to see what suits me...sigh, it's a very long journey.

Nice work. I'm hoping this video saves my dart game.
this is interesting for me because I've also been struggling to change my throw to your 'better form' throw. Before, I throw like you. Now I throw like 'the better form' version. surprising to me, it is actually the correct 'push'. The way you throw now for me is more like 'swing' means your elbow more likely moved up very little. Think like a trebuchet in a war video game. Meanwhile the 'push' is when you push the dart like you're throwing a brick onto a wall with your wrist and elbow very relaxed. It will eventually lift your elbow from aiming point and your wrist dropped down. The key is your elbow and wrist must be very relaxed. Try throwing while putting a dart on your inner elbow (i dont now how to call it, but it's there), if you 'push' it correctly, the dart on your inner elbow will jump up. Think like a folding gate! The more you relaxed, the stronger it hits the board, so much easier to aim a target. 'swing' requires a very high concentration for me whilst 'push' requires more stamina. in 'swing' you always need to memorize your release point in 'push' you dont have to, because there will be a point where you cant hold the dart anymore and you really really need to release (just like when you're throwing a brick as hard as you can onto a wall) note: dont change the backswing, it's same for both. but anyway it's just my opinion, I saw a lot of people throwing differently....still better than me. LOL. try it and let me know what you think

I think you explained it well there, its something I think lots of people try to develop, some it will work and some it wont but like Japanes Guy I have wrestled with this for a long time, my natural throw is no more and I still struggle with what I have developed so far but I have improved to what it was a couple of years ago, it can be a problem once you start changing though as you can try so many things it messes with your head. I don't believe there is an absolute correct way as such only your own way but with some foundations from what is needed such as a light subtle grip and a relaxed throwing style etc. I know one guy who argues like crazy that its impossible to push the darts but I think he is nuts and although it may not be quite the same as pushing a box or a door etc its the best way to explain the principle of throwing the dart that way.

Darts Review Channel glad to hear some feedback. Yes I also struggled very hard, my average PPD dropped to half when I try this kind of throw, it's been a year and I've never been able to get back to my previous state. I can only get back at 70%. At that moment I realised that I'm in my 'First Slump' I believe the best time to practice a different thing is when you're relaxed and enjoying the game. Otherwise, it's just gonna frustate you. Be confident with the direction you're practising. I've even seen guy throwing by just flicking FINGERS and he scores over 100 in average, why? because he made himself very relaxed and confident.

Yeah I think its my main issue at present, struggling with the ability to get into that relaxed state and putting too much pressure on myself, my natural was very flicky and wristy a bit like how Bunting throws but it would cause me pain im my wrist so I guess I would have had to change style just because of that. Last year I started to pick up well and I think it was because I was going to the gym and it must have been having an affect on my muscles, my throw felt smoother and was going well but I kept picking up injuries, back kept getting niggles then I tore my calf muscle then I hurt my left shoulder so I decided to stop, its been over 6 months now and there is still a twinge in my left shoulder but I will give it a couple more months and then start doing some very light weight exercises and see if that helps my throw again, cheers! :)

+Darts Review Channel thanks mate! I was always liked Beaton. His personality, they way he plays darts, everything. And also his throw too... Unfortunate to hear your injury.. when I get injury I go to physiotherapy immediately and I also stop play darts as well... or like icing the injury part or something. I hope that you get well soon mate.

+Dede Firmansyah good that you have the beautiful form... I wish I have that lol
Japanese Guy TV
