The story goes like Narakasur was king of Pragjyotishpur, he did immense pennace to please maa Kamakhya. When Maa appeared in front of him, he was mesmerized by her beauty, and on an instant he wished to marry Maa Kamakhya. But Maa Kamakhya, gave him an task to create way to her temple in one night, by the rooster's coo, than only she'll fulfill his wish. He started to do his work so that he can win Maa Kamakhya. When Maa saw that he was almost done with the task she gave him, Maa on instant commanded a rooster to coo untimely, due to which the task of preparing the way to the temple remained incomplete, and this was the reason of Narakasur to torture women. That path which narakasur prepared is still here in Guwahati, and the place is known as Mekhela Ujua Path. Inscriptions are still found on the way.

It's nowhere mentioned in our religious texts that Devī Kāmākhyā killed Narakāsura. It was Śrī Kṛṣṇa who killed Narakāsura...!! Devī Satyabhāmā also aided him in this. All stories shown in this show are completely wrong... basically this show worked just bc'z of Pooja's acting & nothing else... writers distorted the original stories and gave their own version!!
