D.W. Fearn LP-1 Line Pad Tutorial

I’m using the DW Fearn LP-1 with my Neve 1073 DPA which allows me to go through the two Microphone inputs, passing through the left and right input and output transformers (as the DPA unit has electronically balanced Line inputs). This was the best solution I was offered by KMR Audio UK back in 2008. The LP-1 is very beautifully built, and I’m glad to have got one of these red boxes at the time . Sorry to say, Ron, that the LP-1 was discontinued last year. We have incorporated the line input function in our VT-2 mic preamp as a new feature. If anyone wants to build a Line Pad for themselves, I can provide you with the schematic. It is a simple project, but will require drilling and punching a metal box, and soldering.
