这就是我国的政治现实，首相安华是真诚坦率的，他和希盟也没法解决（在这一届或日后很多届），除非马来族群在政治上本身能够醒觉并形成足够强的意愿到自发进行改革（无奈这可能性也很低）。所以非马来族群也只能自强不息，自寻出路。所以，非马来人才外流之势是无法阻止的，也是这国家自己造成的损耗结果。

How to navigate through quota system ? Find an alternative means like TAR university, Xieman university besides other private universities. MOE job to find a solution whether to loosen up existing quota system OR recommend expansion of non public universities. As the country progress the quota system will ultimately diluted. Increase the size of economy pie is a key. No miracle is pure hardwork.

The objective is obviously dividing nonbumis votes. If PH with more parliamentary seat lacking of malay support cannot and dare not to change the policy. In order to solve quota issue is to have stronger economy, build more Uni, subsidize even private uni. Then quota will be solve easily. Everything we need to improve require stronger economy. So, economy is our priority, not all thse useless talks by MUDA.

Sori, i dont agree with PM answer!!!! It is about ethnic quota, thats the fact. He answered with giving chance to the sub par school student a chance to enter further education as compared to school with better infrastructure & top student hence denied the change in constituancy law but allowing the sub-par student to proceed & most likely doesnt make any brilliant or significant contribution to society. If there are low quality school exist in the country, thats government failure. The entry quota will only make things worst...5D result teacher teaching the student as oppose to having more 7A teacher. Its a fact that laid😅 out by ministry of education on higher education intake qualification. Those who obtain 7A naturally hv right to proceed...why must appeal?????? Might as well dont set any standard. Whoever want to proceed even thou with only D result juz appeal. I pity the poor gal who directed the question being treated unfairly by PM. The question is not who is right or wrong, but is a wrong policy initiated by past politicians. We don’t have to repeat that but what we are going to do to soften the policy by the current politicians. Let’s face it the quota system whatever measure you use is a racist policy and given to todays sentiment racialism is a dirty world in the whole world except in countries like Brunei and Malaysia. The young lady is not trying to abolish it but she feels is unfair given that her sis and her friends with good grades. If current politicians are smart they should seek solutions to work around it, not by saying they will lose the election and be wiped out, etc. the premise of meritocracy as explained by Anwar by quoting Sandel has plenty of misgivings. As in any non scientific books, either using normative, descriptive arguments bound to have flaws. Just to use the kampung schools in Kapit, Sarawak and in some hulus in W Malaysia, which Anwar argue is of low standards and as such cannot be compared with Malay College, which is of high standard, then the government should upgrade them to comparable high standards. If Anwar argument holds, we will forever have low standard schools and inferior students. Let’s face it if Singapore can upgrade its kampung schools to comparable high standard, why can’t Malaysia. I can cite another case China. She upped 800 m people from poverty without giving any quotas, ‘bumiputra’ benefits, handouts, house discounts, etc,

However, implementing a bumiputera quota doesn't address the underlying problem which is about fairness for the least fortunate. I agree with the Prime Minister's emphasis on fairness and meritocracy. Instead of using a race-based quota, I believe quotas should be based on different factors, such as quotas for those with lower disposable incomes or household earnings, rather than being determined by one's racial background.

We shared similar experiences and frustrations with the young lady during our study lives. Knowing that your results are far better than others but have been rejected for further tertiary education. Instead of harping on Malay special privileges and social contracts, the NEW government can increase budget allocation to expand and enhance infrastructure for matriculation courses. As the pie grows bigger, everyone will get a fair share, and there will be fewer complaints. Secondly, maintain the current quota intake at existing universities, but we can establish at least two totally new universities where the intake will be based on meritocracy. Thirdly, build more semi-government universities to cater for those who have been declined entry due to the present quota system.

I would admit that he is a good leader, nothing wrong with what he have said. That is the truth. The quota status for the minorities has always been like this, but there would be a need to consider again for the intakes regarding 1As, 2As and so on if matriculation is meant for the best. We can’t change the social mindset but we can change ourselves. However, I have came across with the majority who didn’t realised about the quota. That shocked me when I was pursuing my study in university.

说个中国大陆的故事，中国的各地高考难易度以及录取率差异自上世纪中国恢复高考就存在。对于此2002年曾有山东考生状告北京教委曾一度造成全国性的舆论冲突，到了2018年作为既得利益者的北京高考状元在接受采访时表示自己主要是靠着家境和政策优惠才能当状元有羞愧疚感而中国的高考制度仍旧畸形没有任何改善。如今又过去五年每年高考季问题都会引来热议但制度永远不会更改，甚至天津市人才引进还冠冕堂皇的把自身受特殊优待作为卖点宣传。

There are ways we could improve the accreditation for university or government department. Naturally, most policies or evaluation systems favor the majority race. The government needs a separate meritocracy evaluation system that represents multiracial in this country. Other than education, this can apply to says JKR, eg road conditions in Sabah, merits system is bypassed by politicians. I know many road contractors are related to political parties or politicians. Government doesn't have independent quality cycles or merit system. Even though, the roads does not maintain up to standard, the contract sum is paid. Evaluation system if properly implemented can curb corruption too.

This is the first PM giving promise to ensure good students getting the high education. This is hopeful enough. I would say education is important especially to raise equally among races especially Malay who are the majority in this country. More people like Syed Saddiq is needed to bring up the whole country. We cannot let another Najib to rule the country. I agree that there’s no simple solutions for this matter. It take times, for us to learn things. It will take times to be execute, especially on education. We have a promising leader right now, let’s go with him. And we can have our choice again based on the ruling parties execution result. I understand the question might not be phrased in a 'nice' way, but the PM simply acted very defensive. I'd hope the PM could explain about the equality and equity issue that the gov trying to solve here, instead of just shot her down and threatened that the other party will treat you even worse! The example that he gave doesn't justify a race-based quota. It is fair if we have lower requirements for rural students to get admission compared to urban area, also consider financial and etc. based on needs basically. I tried to look online for any point system for the existing quota, but cannot find anything. It is ridiculous when he said we can appeal for individual cases. If I was there, I would ask for his email, so I can email him to make rayuan for hundreds, if not thousands of my saudara-mara, and kawan-kawan. I have long left school, but this quota system really hurts me until today. I had met gov sponsored student in the UK who graduated and decided to stay in the UK and do AP cars business, instead of coming back to contribute to Malaysia. Another gov sponsored classmate who always missed classes. Are those students really need these opportunities? Do they feel any gratitude to the country? Hopefully one day the gov will realize that parents who always helps their kids will never have independent kids. Afterall, If I can get full scholarship with 5As, why do I have to study hard to get 10As??

i’d agree there’s no way system quota can be removed in even one or two terms’ time. That’s the fact and we got to manage our expectations. But I think the system should be improved, for example providing a transparent selection criteria. From this video, I can see PMX is keen to help people from poorer background and provide education support to this part of the society. BUT, i also have malay friend whose parents are doctors, yet he went to matriculations over an average result. This is an inconsistency between what Anwar wants, and what is actually happening.

Unfair quota of 95% to one race has caused serious brain drain and talent migration. University reputation and quality suffer, so are the Economy and everyone of all races as foreign investors do not come. So in long term Malaysia could not attract high technology industries, nor R&D and could not improve its peoples salaries. Quota is a short myopic solution. Had quota effective, that would not be a one trillion debt 66 yrs old country, there would not be a successful ever shinning neighbour Singapore.

​@@final1789I used to study in KMPP like two years ago and Penang Matriculation College rlly got some sizeable non-bumi students n Malay students are just many bcuz of most of them r in 2-year programme while real Malay percentage of 1-year programme with non-bumi students are like 50% while another 50% is non.
