Only 2 enough ... ! 😂. During per annum CNY, we spent a lot of budget for those multi snacks. Because it is only 'One year one time' 😜. But just don’t forget 煲凉茶. Didn't try local '肉干' ? My personal flavoured snacks was something concerning about peanut, besides 肉干, a must. SCS is one kind of the branded name which is a spread butter commonly served with bread daily. Product wrapped with silver outlook. Nothing so special but just because it is more butter flavour compared with and priority it price's intermediately. And this branded is one of the chosen one option for local bakers. For the 年糕 it can be eaten just like snacks too. DIY, you get one and chilled it early. After all you cut into bike size portion and then steam it. Done it well will become very soft and sticky like mochi-mochi. Then place on plate and serve with (my option) dipping very fresh coconut milk then rolling up it around and fully coated with a lot of very fresh shredded coconut and eat it, yummy. Besides you can try coated with grated Parmesan Cheese or dipping with Melted Cheese too. But please don't serve with melted chocolate, it's weird 🤣. Just simple is that. As a Foodie it's another option for you, please visit ICC Pudu food court. You can found one of the food stall being selling very famous and always have a long queue awaiting 炸年糕. Just try it ...

We bought 2 but after trying we found that the food is really good and really want to get more haha. Yet you are also right that we could spend more budget on other snacks as well. What a good suggestion !👍🏻 Btw why we should not eat the local 肉乾? as we have also recently bought some 😅 From the way you present how to eat rice cake is kinda nice they you show us how to better enjoy good rice cake, and we personally prefer having them sliced into smaller pieces and then steam or fry it so that we can have it like 一口糕👍🏻😁 Thanks for sharing your thought and information !😎

The "old" way of eating 年糕 is slicing(refrigerating b4 slicing) them up over a lightly oiled plate, steam for +/-12mins, pair them with grated young coconut (sprinkle with salt for flavor). The main diff our pineapple tarts/rolls from the Taiwanese ones has got to be the paste itself, usually coarser in texture and we don't shy away on the flavor profile, we like ours tangy and sharp, to compliment the crumbly buttery pastry. A good tub would cost above RM40, indicate the butter used, got to eye ball the coloration of the pineapple paste and definitely got to handle with care, the one you are holding is too crumbly for gifting. 😅Enjoy!

While churning out all these festive goodies take some skilled Ninja to accomplish. *salute to them* The one and only thing i'm good at making, batches of killer fat bullets aka pineapplerolls meant for fattening the loves ones.(easiest and least kerfuffle to make) Anyway, I am better at devouring them

SCS 算係高级牛油之一,超市有的卖,个brand logo 有只大star,salted and unsalted,确实係好吃d.老板果然係落重本制作。 间猪肉粉用自家农场的猪,very ketone,可以安心吃。Their 猪肉专门shop "三板头"就在 SS2 Maybank 同一条街,话唔定有有猪油渣卖。 后边有间 "大山脚猪肉粉",都唔错,汤底比较清甜,没落胡椒。 The hawker center next to it,档Doraemon Penang 炒棵条、有20+ years 功力,小弟至爱。 REX KL 前身是间很旧戏院 (Alan Tham - Wyners 喇叭裤年代个只).Book access 以前係间"小报摊" , The 1st shop is at Amcorp mall. 预祝施主把 3 月份香港visitor "推落坑"。。哈哈。罪过罪过 。( 听广HK 已没了Burger King, 著名xx 海南鸡饭好贵兼麻麻麻地。。,元朗牛腩面搬左来Manjarela..)😈

Since y'all like noodle soup so much, then you have try this very fresh sea fish noodle (生/炸石班魚米 Poach/Fried Garoupa meehoon, and 龍虎班米 Poach Dragon Garoupa meehoon) in this shop : 满記魚頭米 Moon Kee Fishhead Noodle 48, Jln 19/3, Seksyen 19, PJ. (Seksyen 19 is just next to SS2). These dishes come with fish meat, not fish head. Their 米粉 is nicer than their 河粉 . Go for their 奶汤 original milky soup if you eat there the 1st time. Trust me, i patronised it frequently many time many years already. Always wanted to go again. Want to recommend it to you, our HK friends.

我们喜欢用年糕夹着番薯同芋头一起炸的,有机会你们应该买些来吃,很好吃的。你看到 那些年糕是用香蕉叶包着(这里传统做法),不过已有人用上槊胶纸了。市场里有些年糕是专做来拜神的,不能吃。SCS is a good butter brand name. There are many pineapple cookies in Malaysia, some are rolles, some are tarts etc. Malaysians are rather creative with our CNY cookies, every year there are new creation! I believe most Malaysian prefers our local pineapple cookies when compared to the Taiwanist'

Good day, NCNL. The ning go is made with gultinous rice flour n sugar only. Just 2 ingredients. It's lay with banana leaves to prevent sticking to the mould. You can cut into small pieces with oiled knife n steam n enjoy with shedded coconut. Or you can fry them with coated flour. P/S yes, SCS is a branded butter which had been in M'sia for years.

This shop is good. I like their fish ball soup more than their Garoupa meat soup. Nice to go with 干撈米粉面 (有猪油渣) dry meehoon + mee (with crispy lard). Their boss told me their fish balls are made from Tofu sea fish which were souced from Kuala Selangor fishing village.
