You can nib the combo, and you can also ash the combo. You need to nib away one or two of the monsters they summon to your field before they giant grinder them. You can also use ash on the in-hand effect since the field spell doesn't protect monsters while in the hand.

The one card FTKs all rely on the Field Spell from what I've seen so far. And all the FTKs in general rely on Argent Chaos Force and C40: Dark Strings. Out of those three, Argent Chaos Force is the most likely to get the axe (again) because it was banned before, and other RUMs exist that the deck can use (obviously not nearly as well though).

They went overboard in ensuring giant grinder is useful. But this new support DOES make all 3 gimmick puppet numbers playable, at least. Giant grinder is now an ftk enabler, gimmick puppet of strings now has a guaranteed board wipe & draw on rank up, the leo brothers can now do their alt wincon so long as the field spell remains in tact, and they can now actually search rank up magic argent chaos force - which despite being generic, was specifically created in universe for gimmick puppets, heraldry, chronomaly, and dyson sphere. Now we just need the other arclights to get deck updates to make their numbers playable.

There's a lot actually. We're missing 2 of his monsters and most of his spell/trap support. Triangle gimmick box shouldn't be broken anymore considering disaster leo's effect was changed specifically to avoid having triangle + argent chaos force be the equivalent of drawing all 5 exodia pieces on end phase. EDIT: same thing goes for most of the chronomaly backrow, about half of the heraldic beast backrow, and all of quinton's backrow.

I love the idea of GP being strong, but I'm a bit sad because the possible outcomes here are: 1) The deck is not hit (yet) and fairly consistently does FTKs while being largely unaffected, so everyone absolutely hates playing against it and it's terrible for the game. 2) The deck is hit quickly, losing the ability to do the FTK consistently, in which case it becomes very weak since burn is all the deck really does. Side note: By pure chance, I actually picked up 3 copies of each Gimmick Puppet card about a month ago, not in anticipation of the support, but just because I wanted to own them on the off chance the deck ever DID get support. Yey.

I been asking for decent gimmick puppets since LED3 😡 And as an Exosister player having a Zexal archetype getting a Martha makes me smile. Edit: Also you don't necessarily HAVE to pop their cards and FTK them, the idea I think is to bloat your opponent's field with stuff they don't want and flip the old trap that lets you summon puppets from deck up to the deficit. And or with the new trap after you run through your material you can just suck all the monsters back to use yourself or blow them up.
