@@MillionaireRobot Em talks about his friend being there for him when Ronnie died so it's not Royce. They didn't know each other back then. I think he's talking about the same guy on Difficult. Proof, Eminem and him were friends when they were really young. I don't remember his name though.
@MillionaireRobot4 жыл бұрын

@@MillionaireRobot MillionaireRobot The chorus and the verses talk about different people. I think that Eminem and Proof's verses are talking about the same guy. And how can it be about Royce when he didn't know him? Ronnie died in 1991 and Eminem and Royce met around 97.

@@natnirv en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/How_Come Guess they're talking about eachother? Hmmm.. But the chorus must be about Royce, since they were friends before but then started beefing for no reason... And Eminem wanted his friend (Royce) back, and he came back.

Ok, people are saying the song is aimed at Royce Da 5'9". But it's not. Em's verse talks about someone comforting him when his uncle Ronnie died. This isn't Royce. Ronnie died in 1991, but Em didn't meet Royce until 1997. Em's verse is aimed at Proof.
@codlivestreams96249 жыл бұрын
SOMEONE UNDERSTANDS
@boomshakalaka72039 жыл бұрын
Most of Em's verse sounds like it's towards Kim and someone else (it could be Proof). Kim was also around when Ronnie died, and his mom adopted her when they were kids. How do you explain Kon's verse though? Eminem had already been married to Kim for a while, and still was after this song dropped. Was he talking about Proof? It's hard to tell who Proof's verse is aimed towards. You have to keep in mind, D12 and Royce had a beef going on when this song dropped. We may honestly never know what each individual verse was aimed towards until they answer it themselves. It's a hard song to decipher so I can understand the confusion. If you're going to quote rapgenius, they know about as much as you and me.

hit or no hit that shouldn’t matter if you like d12 you appreciate any new music they would give us. I for one enjoyed Bane when they released it I feel it was far from their best work but I think they gave us that to keep a buzz around the new album but I feel that they released it while still not being sure they were even going to drop a new album they just kept mentioning it to keep a buzz going about the possible new album as a fan I admit that with no proof d12s sound changed and I wonder if they shelved the project fearing that it wouldn’t live up to what has become d12s signature sound and be considered a failure and be considered a desperate attempt to stay relevant and tarnish d12s legacy and especially proofs legacy and maybe out of respect to proof they decided that they would not continue the group and let the legacy they already built be I feel that way about ATCQ I feel that the best thing for them is to not continue making new music and let their legacy stand they don’t have to quit rapping just don’t release new music under the d12 name they could start fresh and the fans will always know who they are and what they did but any new d12 music is always going to be compared to the work done while proof was alive and like usual it will always be criticized for not being the same as their previous work even though a core member is gone it will always be looked at in that way and d12 will constantly be criticized and eventually be called a joke and a failure which could then tarnish the work that they already gave us

When I was young I loved this song but I never really felt the impact of the lyrics but when I listen now reminds me of my bro cuz we don't talk no more it's mad how many songs you listen to when your young but when your older it's like your hearing upstanding for the first time CRAZY 💓💯🔥👍👊

Believe it or not, this song started playing in my mind. I haven't heard it in YEARS! WITH Em's new CD out and thinking about the past, this touches me more- even now. Since the passing of Proof, you wondered if they would be able to digitalize unreleased vocals from him and allow the group to put out other projects...... I MISS D-12 TREMENDOUSLY!!!

(LYRICS) [Eminem:] So I changed huh? You got a phone, pick it up, call me [Chorus: Eminem] How come we don't even talk no more And you don't even call no more We don't barely keep in touch at all And I don't even feel the same love when we hug no more And I heard it through the grape vine we even beefing now After all the years we been down Ain't no way no how, this bullshit can't be true We family and ain't a damn thing changed, unless it's you [Verse 1: Eminem] So young, so full of life in vibrant side by side wherever you was ridin' I went So close, almost on some Bonnie and Clyde shit When Ronnie died you were right by my side with a shoulder to cry on Tissue to wipe my eyes, and a bucket to catch every tear I cried inside it You even had the same type of childhood I did Sometimes I just want to know why is it that you surcame to yours And mine I survived it, you ran the streets, I 9 to 5'd it We grew up, grew apart, as time went by us, then I blew up To both yours and mine surprises Now I feel the vibe I just cant describe it As much as your pride tries to hide it Your cold, you touch its like ice In your eyes is the look of resentment I can sense it, and I don't like it [Chorus] [Verse 2: Kon Artis] It was my dream at first to be on spitting a verse On my own album with a deal but shit got worse So I came out I would've killed a nigga first Before I let him disrespect me and check me over some worst Some bitch that I wasn't with I would hit her then quit But you would pull a talk with her and tell her she was the shit I told you don't get involved in it, you was smoking the chron with her Coming out of the bar with her stumbling half drunk Like you all was husband and wife or something But me catching her fucking other niggers must've hurt you pride or something 'cause you won't fuck at the mouth with people like you wanted with me When all I tried to do was show you that your bitch was shifty And ever since the fans and all the shit that I produced You're acting like I ain't your man and lying like she can't be loose But I am really you friend, I'm just trying to tell you the truth But don't hate the game or the player 'cause the one that is changing is you [Chorus] [Verse 3: Proof] You're only at the top 'cause my homie had to stop Now we acting like I gotta live only for the block Homies in the hood only she be on the tube Only gossip on the porch get to speaking on who Fools I used to rap with all expect magic Like my finger get to snapping and *poof* it just happen But PROOF is just acting out the party was stoned Shady made it so my babies ain't starving at home See the devil in you grin since the ghetto we been friends Whenever real intelligence that's forever till the end I be the hatred in your eyes and the Satan in your lives And wasting my times with these snakes in disguise (how come) when you talk its with bitter and spite And (how come) it's my fault for what you did with your life And everytime I go to hear you and play you look away We barely embrace, you can't even look me in my face. [Chorus] )

Dang I just listened to Eminem's opening verse after over ten years. This was an era of hip-hop we'll never get back. Oh my whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaattttt....

"How come" is probably the most ambitious project by D12 considering the content. Yes, they did serius song like those for they fallen hommies, but that was more natural. This however is not that easy to conceive and execute. Good job!

Proof is the realest person ever in hip hop, no hard feelings about anything, helping his people but not taking shit from anyone about a damn thing. The real reason behind Eminem's success imo

On this day 20 years ago this song came out. D12 World dropped 20 years ago. This song is still great to me all these years later like it was the first time I heard and I still blast this song in my car while rapping to it. I have both D12's album along with all of Em's studio albums and compilation albums.
