i just purchased a used 2011 freightliner with DD13. 304000 on clock. running very well. power torque for dryvan. pretty good thus far

Does a Volvo engine require all those parts? Just to allow piston, rods and a crank to perform? Worst part about the D-13 is all the gearing in the rear of the engine. Bearings in a gear go bad and the whole transmission must be dropped! On mine the idle gear failed, at 70 mph. Instantly the power steering stopped and the fuel pump shut down. I'm in heavy traffic with no steering or power!

I bought a used Volvo truck. It didn't come with an engine brake. Apparently they're an option that the carrier that spec'd the truck didn't want.
