I recently inherited a 190 and am "fixing it up". Calling it a restoration would be a stretch. My reciever is scratched as well and I hope to achieve a similar result. That and the wood refinished in gloss tru oil it should be a real looker. Thanks for the videos.

Just a heads up: I started sanding down my buddy’s and it turns out the aluminum had bubbles. Far from looking nice and shiny like Donnie’s, it looked like it had acne scars. No huge problem though-I just painted it with black epoxy, almost looks anodized again now. Hopefully my friend will like it.

UPDATE. I decided to remove the laquer from the reciever. Afraid it wouldn't hold up to the cleaning chemicals. It is aluminum, so it should hold up well and not tarnish. I'll just keep it clean and well oiled. Donnie D
