A team of road travelers in two off-road vehicles Nissan Patrol Y61 and Toyota LandCruiser Prado 78 set out to reach the very edge of Eurasia - Cape Chelyuskin.
Four people loaded their jeeps and left from Moscow and Novosibirsk.
By road we got from Moscow to Novosibirsk, then to Bratsk, Ust-Kut. Further there was 900 km of cheerful winter road to Mirny and a year-round road to Udachnoye. There we visited the Udachny quarry, where diamonds are mined. Further north there were only winter roads. The Anabar winter road in Yakutia took us to Yuryung-Khai, the northernmost settlement in Yakutia and the entire Far East. The winter roads were over. We went into the tundra to the west towards Khatanga. Half a thousand kilometers of wild winter road along the rivers and tundra of the Krasnoyarsk region and we reached Khatanga. We found out that there is no and will not be any diesel fuel. We managed to buy half a thousand liters of diesel fuel in Khatanga seaport and went to the tundra of Taimyr. Further it was 1000 kilometers to Cape Chelyuskin. No life, no people and no chance for help.
We reached the factoria on Lake Taimyr, refueled and went to the Byrrang mountains. We met musk oxen and polar wolves. We reached the geological exploration on the Unga River. Then through Mod Bay, where Rual Amundsen wintered in 1918-1919, we made a march to Cape Chelyuskin. We met there border guards and polar explorers at the weather station. A graveyard of Soviet scrap metal, a ghost ship and an abandoned station in the Arctic.
