D23 Mickey Mouse Club Celebration

The complete D23 Expo evening event "Celebrating Walt Disney's Mickey Mouse Club: 60 Magical Years" is presented. Original Mouseketeers Sherry, Sharon, Bobby, Tommy, Darlene, Cubby and Doreen are joined by Tim Considine and David Stollery (Spin and Marty) to share stories, sing songs and look at film clips from the show. We include a special presentation that was made at the end of the event. Shot on Sunday, August 16, 2015.

Sad news for you original Mousketeer Fans. I found out that Doreen Tracey passed away on January 10 of pneumonia after a two-year battle with cancer. She was 74. Doreen Tracy 1943-2018 RIP.

I was just at the mmc30 anniversary event for the 90s version on May 17th-19th of this year at Hyatt Regency in Orlando and had an after party at Epcot with the cast and I loved growing up with my generation as well. Makes u wonder if they will do the same with my generation when they get even older.

I truly felt honored to be able to meet the Mouseketeers face to face after watching them on tv in 90 & DVDs, & congratulate them on their Diamond Anniversary in Mickey Mouse Club, & to all of their members I wished them all the very best, including dear Annette, may she rest in peace. I hope to see them at Disney Family Museum next month if I get the chance :)

Tommy looks good as does Cubby. No Lonnie? Sadly Doreen and Karen didn’t have too long afterwards to be with us. I wish those that still are all the best. Liked them as kids and they are still likable after age 70. Dennis, Cheryl, Annette, Jimmy and Roy live on in our memory too. Such a comfort to us growing up..

I loved The (original) Mickey Mouse Club when I was a small child, in the mid '50s. I have the Mickey Mouse Club dvds that Disney released in the early 2000's...but, you know? Disney could release the entire 3 year series on dvd.. Sure..this would be rather expensive, as the shows were daily hour long episodes, (at least for the first 2 years of the production)..but it COULD theoretically be done. Disney would make real money from this release. Look at DARK SHADOWS.. every one of Dark Shadow's 1,224 episodes have been released in a large boxed set. There are millions of us who were kids in the 50's, we would buy a complete set of The Mickey Mouse Club episodes, if such a boxed set were to be made available. We are now in our 60's and '70s.. if Disney would perhaps release a boxed set like this; it had better be soon, before we all pass away from WAITING for them to release the entire Mickey Mouse Club series.. :>)

Sherry Alberoni [only season 2] finagled to replace Doreen after her nude layouts in a "girlie mag", Tommy Cole, both of whom took issue with my memoir in 2009 and updated through Annie's death [Annette Funicello} in 2014 as THE ACCIDENTAL MOUSEKETEER. had me EXCLUDED along with Bobby, who always disliked me and made it obvious. The others "went along", except Karen who did show up, since they have never held nor expressed mature feelings about honor, truth, dignity, and other things for which I fought over decades with the Disney Organization [humans, via SCOTUS] and hardly any of them thanked me. site since 2000 mouse keteer lonnie burr dot com and find out.

What a pity that Walt Disney never allowed the Mickey Mouse Club to feature any black kids as Mouseketeers, and that they were never told that they were "as welcome as can be". "Standing Room Only"? That sign could just as easily have read "Whites Only". What a pitiful legacy.
