My Blizzard & Orb dual casting sorceress with her cold sunder charm and Cold Mastery chomps through everything quite well. It really doesn't cost much equipment at all, as Ginger said in the video. I ran out of patience with farming after a couple of weeks on and off playing after finishing the game on Hell.

I think everyone has to some degree ran out of patience. I still think Blizzard needs to stop piecemealing us. We should have every character since d1 (and the fake expansion lol) in this game. The would have had at worst 1-2 months needed to build a character considering they already "have the art/background" etc. I realistically think we could have had 10-15 characters tops before it got out of hand. But considering they still make hundreds of millions of dollars lol they could have definitely added more characters and not even cracked 10 million.

Getting the cold sunder for my blizz sorc changed everything for me. I almost quit but now I’ve almost farmed everything I need besides 1 SOJ and a Mara’s.

GGM, about the Necro - unlike Conviction and/or Lower Resist, Amp Damage does not receive any malus/penalty for monsters whos phys immunity was sundered. That means that your summons can now kill previously physically immune monsters MUCH faster than just breaking the immunity with Amp Damage. And considering that the Summoner is usually guarded by his summons, having a Bone Break sunder charm is a no-brainer.

I agree the physical sunder used in combination with amplify damage is good. But also only against the immunes.

They are all different because of two factors. How common are the immunities? Are The Immunities Easily Broken? This changes each sunder charm, in regards to its overall usefulness. If I said the same exact term as above but in reference to cold sunder it becomes a positive because cold immunes are unbreakable and extremely common. Each sunder definitely gets it's own specific consideration to the statement "But only against the Immunes."

I do feel the physical sunder has helped a lot for summon necro, vs some stone skin/physical immune elites it took years to chug through even with amp damage, amp not being penalised in lower physical resistance while sundered speed up killing those with insanely high physical resistance which either slowed down stuff a ton or you had to skip to save time before

The main problem here is that unlike with cold that was unbreakable. Or Fire which like everything was fire immune just about. I feel like with physical while yes it does help when you encounter those physical immunes, they are no where near as common as fire immunes, and no where near as troublesome as cold immunes were

Thats sort of an interesting point of view you have there, thanks so much for sharing it :) Since I didnt watch your first ranking I was like "Paladin? King? When in D2R?", and immediately grabbed my Pitchfork and Torch to set your house on fire, err I mean give a critical, yet friendly and reasonable comment, when you started by ranking the Barb at the bottom. But the way youre comparing the classes, it makes perfect sense. If we're talking about general purpose usefulness a barb certainly is the last spec you'd be shooting for, especially now that sunder charms make a casters life hell of a ton easier For me, since I'm not a PVP Player and prefer to rank classes by viability in their endgame strong suites, a rating based on S2 experience would look like this: 7) Druid. Just due to the fact that it doesnt have the slightest niche in Endgame. 100% Funchar. 6) Necromancer. Pretty much the same story. Slight edge over druid because some of the necro builds are fairly gear independent and therefore make it a reasonable early char. 5) Assassin. Pretty much in the same spot as necromancer, but slight edge over it because she's probably the fastest starting char and also fairly gear independent while being considerably faster than e necro in most pve fields. 4) Surprise, Paladin. Yep. Hammerdin, Foh and those Hybrid/Tribrid, Dragon or Dream builds are great all purpose choices, but It sort of lost its niche to the orb/blizzard sorceress which can do everything just as fine, sometimes even faster, with way shittier equipment. 3) Another surprise, barbarians. I mean its fairly simple. Until you get your grief, barbs just dont exist. But once you have it, a trav barb is one of the first things I'd shoot for just because of its unmatched rune-finding capability thanks to horking the council. Plus, once you get your enigma, barb is by far the most efficient elite-sniper in the game, which is especially useful now with terror zones. 2) Amazon. Just for being Javazon. Lets be real, they're unmatched if it comes to density farming and smashing ubers. They'd be #1 if there wasnt this yuge dependency on infinity. And well, the shitty cast frames. 1) Obviously Sorceress. Cold Sorceress now more than ever is THE starter build. Get a sunder, wreck stuff with any junk gear you've gathered along the way. And do whatever you want at a reasonable pace, wether its p8 cows, or split mf, or elite sniping, or even fighting ubers. Plus well, novasorc is still the most efficient endgame farming build. In terms of elite sniping she's a close second to horkzerker featuring enigma, but makes more than up for it due to the huge amount of endgame contents she can do at top tier efficiency. Plus its simple as fuck to play, especially with a controller, thats the type of char you'd love to push your 100 chaos runs or cows with while basically laying in your gaming chair scratching your balls every once in a while.

This is my first time playing D2 since a kid and for sure the cold sorc is just far above the other two trees. Being able to forgot the infinity and use an insight is amazing. Infinite mana is just so nice

Good list. Everyone seems to be in the proper placement. Although I feel the Riftsin build with Enigma is the best class. She can kill every so fast nothing stands in her way and even ubers drop like flys.

Not a fan of sunset charms. My barb can kill anything regardless, with both whirlwind and berserk. And be a tank. The kill speed isn't as fast, but still fun to play.

Fire blast assassin skill gets sunder charm support and - Res from phoenix or flickering flame and is an awesome elite sniper now. In comparison Sorc fireball got 2,6 radius and fire blast got 3,3.

Fireballs radius is actually incorrectly stated. "Explosion Radius: 1 yard on tooltip, damage radius of 4 yards in the missile code."

12:11 are the left side Martial arts skills really effective with Sunder charms? Isn't the majority of minus res gear weapons and shields but not claws? Flickering flame + 4-faceted armor or Griffins + the same seem to be the only way to lower resists.

So Cold Mastery gets the 1/5th penalty just like conviction and lower res. It still works but not as good. Capping out cold mastery helps but you are gonna need some -ECR

I never needed anything but lightning. I ran into only TWO individual monsters EVER on my sorc with lightning immunities i could not break, and i was very very surprised both times. 53k lightning. Lightning sorc has always been at the top, however... It requires very expensive gear and in PVP hammer-din is king... Because they are cheap and cheesy. In a fair fight it's a different story. Everyone always talks bone nec but I've seen sins that eat bone for breakfast. Anyway in a fair duel, each class has strengths and can kill any other, which is why d2 PVP is so great when no one is sorbing, boting, insta-tp-ing, map hack with off screen auto locking (basically aim bot) et cetera. They even had one that exits the game just before you die, i think that was made for hardcore farming but of course it made it's way into PvP... Anyway sorry so long 👍😁

Yea cold mastery needs to be 1/5th applicable to cold immunes (even when sundered). Would make cold require an infinity mercenary (like the other sorc variants) to really steamroll - which is a reasonable request.

What are these ranking supposed to be? MF? General farming? No gear? Some of these classes are a pain to stack MF on, and even with sunder, you need to give up extremely valuable slots for -res items.

Overall, most characters can get 150-200% mf with relative ease. Stacking past 200% has very minimal gains. But I see your point which is again why the Sorceress took the #1 spot because she doesn't need -res gear and can stack mf more freely

pvpwise, the paladin will always be top tier because of their DISGUSTING autobuffs for all res on shields, the max block and insane defense from holy shield and uninterruptable from concentratiom not to mention the insane amount of hp pr vit level...

Sunder charms are obtained from hell difficulty Terror zones by killing elites or champions. They only effect monsters that are immune to an element, and they set the monsters resistance to that element to 95% effectively breaking the resistance. I have videos on all of the sunder charms if you want to check them out.

I knew Cold Sunders were going to wreck the sorcerer tree and they did. They should have made it so that with a cold sunder, a sundered CI monster is affected by Cold Mastery the way infinity works.

Bro I kinda get where your going with your list but I’m not sure if your going on easy build to make but for example a trap ww kick sins can literally kill every think in game Ubers with close to immunity 1 point in kick and draks grasp let’s you kill all Ubers death sent is corps explosion with light sor slightly lower damge tornado druids are one of the hiest dps you can do only beaten by hamers jav zons are on God Mode with the last patch with there blocks and always lightning fury adds all physical dame with just uped eth titons you can kill almost every thing toss in poison jav the hiest poison skill in the game hitting 21k dps relative easy going back to assassin ww with claw block makes you almost immune to all dame seeing that claw block blocks almost all damage physical and element same with zon doges I have all of the above classes at 95 at minimum so again are you basing your list on easy made and granted assassin build im talking about is probably the most expensive in game and I’m not including infinite to any of them I have it but don’t use on any like infinite mana more

Ignoring the cold sorceress, the sunder charms have primarily been a positive influence on the game not a negative one. Fire druid becoming viable alone is one of the clearest examples of positive effects.

Vicarious Visions has been and is still in charge of d2r development. They have been doing an excellent job imo I have faith in the VV team. If the game ever falls back to blizzard to maintain specifically it probably will fail.

@@GGMentor I liked some of their older stuff, the early TH games was nice and so on, but not so sure they will handle this in the long run. Sure they did a pretty good job remastering the game visually, but I’m not so sure they will handle the changes in the future. There is an old saying, don’t fix what’s not broken, and old D2 was and still is one of the greatest game ever made, and these guys didn’t make it. No, and their lords, blizzard, even destroyed the guys making it long ago, and they sure will want to try and spin the game into the future, sucking it dry, and all too often similar such situations turn out bad. Blizzard has already made a joke of itself with D3 and how WoW slowly turned out, how they manage things etc. Same spirit as EA games. Buy up good solid games and slowly drag it down. They will thus probably change the game until it is something else completely. Making it so a 3 year old can play it, change it in the core, slowly, little by little, patch by patch, then all sudden an expansion, then all sudden it’s something else. Seen it all to often before. I hope I’m wrong as I love D2 and has played it ever since launch back in the stone age days, but I don’t believe this saga will end good.
