D2R Unique Items - Arkaine's Valor (Balrog Skin)

I would love to see some of these items get buffed or made viable. To me there is nothing more satisfying then finding a cool item and having it actually be viable.

Maybe have it so upping an item causes it to gain an extra effect or two, as for already elite uniques having the chance to roll max sockets would be great. Though one thing that desperately needs a buff is Tyrael's Might.

I remember growing up this armor was super nice for Barbs or shaftstop. Now it's not even seen BC of Runewords.

@@GGMentor okay I stopped half way. Holy crap.. 200 vit + 198 life bonus compared old to new.... Plus fire resist and indestructible. I don't mind a nerf but they went way to far. Now I would bring that back since Runewords are redic.

Have said it before but will say it again. You do a really sensational job of illustrating what the different items in D2R are good for! Man 1.08 Arkaine was frikkin amazing!! :) Was wondering if you'd consider making a new series comparing/commenting on how items used to be in previous versions of the game and what they're like now? From my understanding there's quite a few items in addition to Arkaine's valor that got nerfed/buffed along the way? Shako, Valkyrie Wing, Arreat's face come to mind off the top of my head. Nonetheless thanks a tonne for the great content! P.S Just my 2 cents, I don't understand how they thought 1.08 Arkaine was OP when some of the runewords that followed were even more so. (e.g Grief/Enigma)

Originally from Diablo 1 colours was Silver, gold and red. a unique ring mail with 25 armor, +10 vitality, -3 damage from enemies and fast hit recovery and 40 durability. Nice little side quests armor by getting 4 blood gem 💎 and place them on a alter to unlock the room. But be careful those charging rhino 🦏 demons can be a hassle.

My 1.08 version of this was so godly..coolest item skin in the game to boot as well. The amount of life it used to add to barbs was game changing

I saw one of these drop in V. 1.07 in cows, & was so caught off guard stupid that I paused before picking it up that someone grabbed it before me. Later on, I traded for a duped one off a trade & it *poofed* a few days later with the 1.08 patch. Very frustrating as the 1.07 version was stupid overpowered.

Just rolled a high spec version of this armor from Diablo. It really could use some plus all res, MF and IAS. I think that will make it more relevant again.

I remember getting Arkaine's Valor in D1 and it being an awesome piece of armor. Got this yesterday and was pretty disapointed. It really needed at least some resistences to boost it's usefulness.

It was nerfed back in 1.09 However, it is still the only plus two skill armor that you can put a facet in which makes it unique and very useful

Would be cool if you mentioned the lore and history of the names/pieces to some extent. Remember finding Arkaines Valor in D1 as a part of a quest! Had the same thought when you did Azurewrath, a runeblade wielded by Izual in a D1 cut quest 😅

Just watched your video om Azurewrath recently and remember being a bit disappointed no mention was made on the cut D1 quest etc 😅 Either way, personally I would love if you spent a minute or two on some lore when talking about gear connected to more or less important characters. King Leorics Arm is another one where you could have spent a couple of minutes talking about the once great but later corrupted King! Also loving the set series, really cool!

I don't think the original version was "broken" - it made having it truly worthwhile, even if you had Enigma for example! Today everybody uses Enigma, because the uniques most of the time simply aren't powerful enough - ok, unless you don't have Enigma yet!

10:50 i think BLIZZARD can give us back this armor, not the original but one with 1 point to vitality for level and 2 points of life for every level, i think it could be good but not broken like the original.

I just remembered that back in the day i traded around 40 somethings ber runes for a bug belt, I can't remember what stats it had tho.. I think it was a bugged verdungo? And at another time traded a shit ton for a bugged tal armor as well, I think it had +1 or 2 to all skills

Yeah it was such an epic armor in diablo 1 when you received the quest. But it seems so mediocre here in d2. It does not fit the myth of valor like that from d1.
