Best way to explain the damage increases, is Path of Exile terms. All those off weapon ED% are "additive" increases, where Ethereal and on weapon ED% is multiplicative. In Path, we call multiplicative increased "more damage" and additive increases "increased damage". More damage modifiers are always stronger.

More damage modifiers are not always stronger my friend ^^ it is basically a mathmatic issue ;) more damage based on the weapon gets stronger as it is also affected by increased damage. In the maths it is basically an outweight of 1 factor vs the other. Base Damage of the weapon * more damage (+ damage on the base damage can also be seen as an percentual increase by the way) * increased damage =total damage 100 *1.3 *2 =260 total damage but also true 100 *2 *1,3 = 260 total damage (both damage increases are equal in this case however as we have normally much higher increased damage sources than base damage sources more damage gets more value 100 *1,3 *10 = 1300 damage 100 *1,3 *11 = 1430 damage (increased damage +100%) 100 *2,3 *10 = 2300 damage (more damage +100%) So it is not true to say more damage or base damage increases are better than increased damage it is just that you should allways increase the lower bonus for the better results as it has a more relevant impact. If you applie bonuses you basically should think of it this way: more damage bonus to apply *100 /more damage total before applied bonus = bonus damage in percent by adding more damage modifiers increased damage bonus to apply *100 /increased damage total before applied bonus = bonus damage in percent by adding increased damage modifiers There are other maths possible based on the game design when + more damage is calculated directly on the base damage which makes base damage the 3rd factor and also something to calculate the same way. Example: (100+20) *2 *2 =480 damage (100+40) *2 *2 = 560 damage 20 *100 /120 =16,67% increase | 480 *0,166666666667 = 80 | 480+80= 560 however + 20 base damage equals 20% of the original base damage which neither of the other 2 can come close here as they allready have the higher bonus in total both would only increase the damage by 10% with a 20% bonus increase if it would be 100 base damage +100 other buffs +20 new buff *2 *2 it would not matter which of the 3 is gaining the 20% bonus 220 *2 *2 = 880| 200 *2,2 *2 = 880 and of course 200 *2 *2,2 = 880 So based on how the maths for the games work you will have 2 or 3 or maybe even more factors which can influence the damage in total but true for them all is that the best way to increase the damage in total is to increase the factor type that is the lowest currently buffed one

Just got this one for my zealer. A very nice upgrade to finally be decent to those physical immunes. Been lurking your content for a while now. checking out your unique video series whenever i find an interesting item. Been a blast to get back into diablo after playing the game as a teenager and your content makes it very easy to sort of not be too overwhelmed by all the many aspects of the game. Nice find, there was a time that this weapon was best in slot for zealers. Better weapons have arisen but this weapon is still quite powerful

Baranara's star is perfect for zealers. Used to be best in slot ages ago before grief and breath of the dying.

Grief really should have a higher level req. You put it next to weapons like this and it's just clear that a lot of the runewords could be balanced REALLY easily by locking them behind higher levels.

Just got one of these on level 4 catacombs off of trash, was not expecting that at all. Great way to start hell difficulty as my previous weapon was starting to lag behind. It’s a sexy weapon!

Hey, I love these videos. They go much more in depth than simply presenting the item in question and it is great. That said, if I may be so bold as to use your knowledge of the game. Do you think this weapon is a good combination with conviction aura instead?

Using what attack skill? Zeal might work well, but fanaticism would probably work better then conviction. Vengeance not so much Vengeance is highly based on the weapons physical damage and needs an extremely high damage weapon to work properly. The general idea I think you are going for would be an elemental zealer and it could work but you would need a lot of elemental damage from multiple sources. Charms, and items. There are benefits to this build such as. Conviction would make attack rating needs very low because it reduces all defense of monsters by a pretty massive amount. Any elemental damage you have would get multiplied nicely by conviction. You would be extremely useful to any groups you join as conviction is beneficial to most classes and builds with a few exceptions. You also might be interested in a dual dream paladin

I have this weapon for my Zealot. It’s taken me through to end game. My character is now a level 91 and I’ve been looking for a viable alternative. Runewords seem the only option now.

I put a perfect emerald in mine just for my OCD self to have all the elements and I put it on my blade fury assassin and so far she is doing pretty good in Hell difficulty

You could mop the floor with the 2nd Baal easily with this amazing weapon 🥶⚡💥 especially with the palidan at level 73 & the level 30 skill phastasim (I think I spelled it right🤔)at level 20+

Man this was my first lod barbs weapon, Lil low on damage overall but it's mods are sick af, phys immunes go down quick, not suggested for players 3 or more

It may be outclassed by the more expensive runewords. But it's cheaper and easier to get. You are more likely to get a d use this whole leveling a new paladin in ladder than a grief

Here is my issue with Baranas ^^ you get it late in the game no leach which you need from another source Aldurs Rhytm is based on the low level requirement a good midgame weapon allready for fanazealot which could be buffed with additional sockets the biggest downside for Aldurs however is the lack of damage as it has a + total damage but no damage % increase Baranas only big advantage are the multiple damagesources however there are lots of strong or even stronger elite uniques to choose from also those with magic damage over elemental damage bonus and leach effects or ignore defense bonus and other stuff on them not to mention runewords that outweight baranas for sure. Without leach you need to build the rest of youre equipment arround it which is a big pain in the neck sometimes. Also as only the damage types make Baranas big difference here you could easely choose from sceptres which increase skills for the paladin as well. best alternate unique would be lightsabre however with chance of chainlightning additional lightning and magic damage lower level requirements, indestructible, manaleech, lightning absorb ignore enemys defense .... outweights baranas in mostly all aspects.

Cold will benefit because Cold Mastery reduces enemy resistance, but I think Fire/Lightning Mastery only increase SKILL damage.

Fire and lightning mastery both increase any fire or lighting damage the sorceress Deals. Including melee and ranged. This is the basis of the dream sorceress

I had also dropped laying of hands and raven frost before and been using them, only realizing how good they actually were in retrospect.
