[D3] - 2.0.4 Holy Crusader Build!

I want to enjoy and play a melee based crusader...but, the range is too much fun to pass up :)

I keep switching between condemn and phalanx..... Also i was using Justice but my best friend pointed out that he didn't like it because it made the class feel like a range class; which I agree with and since I played a Wizard in D3 I switched to Slash. But I should give Smite another look.

That's the issue of the class I feel. It wants to be a ranged tank, which just doesn't make sense. The whole concept of a mid range melee/caster means you're always going to get pulled in one way or the other if you want to min/max your build.

Honestly I feel like the whole crusader class is rather lackluster really. It's just.. I like the abilitites and everything seems very flashy/cool, but there's just not enough for any sustainability.

It's a really weird mix of playstyles. They want you to be mid ranged, but block builds rely on being melee which means you're focusing on more tanky stats when compared to other classes because of the default damage reduction. If you want to have some high damage, you basically play like a Wizard with no where near the damage. It will be curious to see where things end up, though.

I find most of the time the crusader laws are almost not even worth the slot they take up on the action bars. The last 3 builds I been messing with have been lawless.

nice build. I'm an idiot that I salvage my 2hand hammer that can be great for this build. With the new patch my Blessed shield shatter rune build can solo T3 now without a problem. I hope they won't nerf it.

I got lucky and have a full set of akkhan and crusader started to be a lot of fun. Previously i was loosing hope ;p btw Heavens Fury(blessed ground)+Provoke(charged up) combo is quite nice.

Only thing I don't like about that set up is the damage types. If you stack holy damage eventually Charged Up is going to fall behind another choice. This also means you're playing a more.., less damage but hitting faster build, instead of a cooldown based build which blows stuff up but has a timer on when they can go boom again Both work really well, I just prefer to walk into a pack and kill it then move on, at least for farming.

***** Charged up is utility + damage. Its the only rune that provides that, plus if you chain a bunch of divine wells (or similar abilities with many ticks) each chain during that 4 second period is applying 50% weapon damage which is really good damage. Id like there to be a holy alternative but unfortunately not the case as of right now.

I run damage damage damage. But play how you want to play.

Just bought the original diablo 3, what do you suggest, is a strong class to start of with?

Depends, if you want to learn the game and feel the risk/reward balance it brings to the table a Demon hunter or a Witch doctor could give you that feel, barbarian is amazing too...if you just want to faceroll your way out, take a wizard

I made a monk and a demon hunter, the monk i dont realy like. But the demon hunter is alot of fun.

Demon Hunter was where I started, kind of miss it :3 monk can be strange.., but turns out to be quite fun. Both Witch Doctor and Wizard are fun too (though Wizard is probably the strongest, so you might go power-crazy ;D)

Honestly in normal it's a cake walk. Just pick what you like.

Strength, Crit Chance, Crit Damage and then CDR.

this class just totally failes, sorry, there is simply no fun in it and it is lousy on dps compared to every other class!

It has a few nice abilities, but I would have to agree overall.
