Good vid, Very informative. I feel more people should talk about the meaning of shots and why they choose to place the camera at certain angles and how it moves story forward. Maybe you could do that for your feature or future projects.

this kinda did inspire me to actually try and just film some stuff with the camera I have. I don't think I'd be able to study a film book or anything but i'll try to do what I can by watching your videos. You're freaking funny and so well keeping me interested with the way you talk to your viewers. I was wondering if there is a technique or techniques that you use that you could maybe share with us i don't know lol
@D4Darious7 жыл бұрын
Thank you for commenting DD. I think my camera techniques mostly come from just doing it for three years constantly. You learn a lot about what works and what doesn't. Maybe I'll do a video on it sometime.

That guy picking his nose was a nice abstract touch. It fit because it added to the awkwardness of any already awkward scene. I even think it could have benefited from an extreme close up. #Greatjob

Great video. I loved the pan shot where the camera pans to the right, following the opening of the door and revealing the man behind the door. It turned a simple pan into an effective revealing shot. Funny, skit, too.

I've been enjoying the beginner filmmaking tutorials you've created. Would be interesting to hear your thoughts on how these could be used for creating videos on youtube and how film rules are the same/different when creating content for youtube.
@ryanmccurdy94238 жыл бұрын
Super intuitive! I'd recommend this for any beginner. The only thing you forgot when you were talking about lens is the Effect telephoto lens have in a CU or wide shot. Yet I know you covered those in your lens video just thought I'd point that out. Great video as always.

Yes, there are lots of basic tutorial type videos out there. But I have found that reinforcement helps, a lot. I am just trying to learn filmmaking as a hobby, so I don't put the same time into it. These videos help drive the point into my thick skull. ;) Also, the explanation of the use of a wide angle lens and what it does was great. And I've never heard it put that way before. That was excellent. :)

Nice scene! Loved the intensity you built with all of the close up angles, and mysterious character. I do personally think that by keeping the shot at 9:03 a little longer, you ,might have been more expressive with your actor. Also the movement at 10:05 confused the crud out of me at first lol. I still love all of it, and it's way better than anything i'm currently capable of. Keep going D4, you are the man.
