D5 RENDER 2.4 V TWINMOTION ANIMATION 2023.1:

In this video I will show you an animation comparison between D5 Render VS Twinmotion. Even though I have more experience with Twinmotion, I like the level of quality better than D5 Render. I have seen some awesome projects in D5 but maybe I just need to practice a little more. With that being said D5 Render has 1000% more assets that are available to use than Twinmotion.

Which would you choose if you were only doing landscape renders? Key factors for me are varied european plant assets, easy to use lighting, the ability to accurately geolocate (especially with correct North alignment) and of course speed. I was edging towards D5, but the lack of 3D Spacemouse support is a big negative.

I haven't tried using a 3d spacemouse yet but for landscape rendering I would use d5 Because they have an awesome population of plants and trees. But if you already have a collection of vegetation then I would use twinmotion because of path tracer.

@@negativspace1565 is it better than TM asset library? That is really quite extensive

Both softwares are an amazing alternative to V-Ray, Corona, Lumion, etc. None is better than the other. Each has its pros and cons. What makes them an increasingly interesting alternative is their level of quality with spectacularly short times. It is true that Twinmotion creates more expectations for me, since Unreal Engine is behind its software. In the end, I believe that everyone should choose their favorite software based on what they are going to use it for.

I would have to say that I like twinmotion more than d5, but also I have been using twinmotion since 2019 and D5 since 2022. D5 has a lot of assets such as furniture and plants. D5 has the best assets than any other rendering software but I think twinmotion puts out better quality. Twinmotion has come a long way. I love using pathtracer for rendering still images but it's bad for animations (takes to long to render animations). But with limen coming to twinmotion in the next couple of months that is going to be a game changer. I love the level of quality and colors of get with twinmotion. I like how I can move or change a wall, fixtures, etc.. when I import my 3d model in twinmotion without having to reimport my again. I can't do that with d5. It's hard sometimes to compare software because everyone uses them differently and have different with flows. The best way to know what works for you is to try both and they are both free to use.
