On the injection tester cup. Figure out if you can get a bolt and a nut of the same thread. Chuck it in the lathe. Drill thru the middle. Get a stainless steel drinking cup. Figure out how to mount the prefilter to the bolt head. Fixed. As for the cat. Somebody will want it. Or C&C equipment will pick it up on a return trip from dropping off a machine.
@Digginok6 ай бұрын
Well…. Fixing the fuel bowl is not complicated, but it’s the principle of me thinking a 70$ injector tester would be a good investment. They are sending a replacement, hopefully it will not cause me to start the lathe! Thanks for watching!

Nice job finding your knock. Took the long way to get there, but you found it. I agree need to pull the cap and see how bad. We all know what the crank will look Like, you've come this far. Don't scrap it, list it. I would do purple wave before market place. So many tire kickers when you list something. I've got a 74 50 ton LoadKing Easy Fold I would like to sell, but the tire kickers Wear me out. Keep us posted and Yes Jeff is a national treasure. TGP

Yeah I should have done the obvious first, but sometimes you get in a certain direction and keep going till ya know where you went wrong. Good advice on the sell!

Yep, after you came back at the end of the video…, I thought to myself Frank ain’t leaving it at that… I figured we would be seeing another video post next weekend, with the pan off, and Frank live streaming to “Jeff” video images of the crank. That is…, the “Frank” we all know. Great video series here “backhoeman”, Thank you sir.

well dang, Frank. Do you think the crankshaft is done too? Doesn't take long with no bearings on the rods. That Jeff Anderson really is something else, been watching him since he did the Super Slot Dozing video. I had no idea what it was and I am glad I took the chance on a random video that day.

Certainly testing your patience, Frank ! There was a lot of play on the rod, my initial thought was the piston hitting the top of the chamber, but that is just an uneducated guess.....
@Digginok6 ай бұрын
Very well could be interference with piston and head at that slack!

Would it be possible take off the side covers and rack the connecting rods and see if you you can feel rod bearing or wrist pin slack.

I’m wondering if you took a laser temp gauge and checked the exhaust temperature of each cylinder to locate the problem cylinder?
@EdgarLuisCosta6 ай бұрын
Yes, take the crankcase cover and see if it's a big damage or not.
@EdgarLuisCosta6 ай бұрын
Maybe the problem is the connecting rods bottom bearings with too much wear or the crankshaft.

Dogs and scrap price are the best.
@OldredfordReilly6 ай бұрын
I wouldn't scrap it seeing that it will run. Worst case of needing a new crank and rods is probably cist prohibitive. Would make a good parts machine.

Vevor or is just about like harbor freight. I think of their tools like a one time use. I bought a transmission jack and a pipe threader from harbor freight and both after I used them weren’t good enough for a second time use. Visor bought a vacuum pump and set of gauges for AC and knobs on the gauges broke and pump got hot and quit pumping the second time I used it. But stuff is cheap enough just buy again when I may need again in 5 or ten years.
@Digginok6 ай бұрын
Yep, one time use tools. Sometimes that’s enough.

I don't know those engines at all, but is there a chance the problem could be in the valve train/cam/cam followers? Maybe even a gear tooth in the front cover? I'm not familiar with how those engines are built. Just thinking out loud.
