D6 Vee Plow Dozer Bismark out Grading the Roads Feb 08 2025

today we needed to shave down the snow packed snow around the Kingdom since we do not plow snow. the D6 9U known as the Bismark which was under water for 3 years was the cat of choice. the staff arrived to document the test holes in the snow pack to see how much there was. then we Double Z Dragged but the Bismark was not working hard enough for the motor to warm up and make the injectors happy to run properly. after Double Z Dragging, we check to see how much was graded off and smoothed out to make a good base for driving on. we were very pleased with the numbers and called it a day. thansk

Good morning from Cape Cod ⛵ 31° and talking about snow I've got 6 in and it's supposed to continue all afternoon. The Bismarck started nicely, yeah she seems to run kind of rough once in awhile but I guess I'd be cranky too after spending 3 years under water 😉 this was a nice lesson for all of us, it's obvious that z drag with those tires does a really nice job. we call them high heels on the cats, they are a pain in the ass and make it rough to ride. we just plow a bit more off the snow and then the cats will get traction. this D6 had 2 bent connecting rods from hydraulic in the cylinder when water went in the intake while running thansk

it was the Bismark with bent rods, if the motor did not run funny when cold then no one would know it was in storage for 3 years under water thansk

Hi you two.... Xena's shopping trips must be like a bran tub lucky dip. I knew a man who tore all the labels off the food tins before he put them in the cupboard, he said when he pulled out a couple of tins for a meal and opened them he ate whatever it was regardless. Made a mundane meal often more exotic...... Certainly no worse than the ex wife's attempts I suppose !

Back when I ran Diesels I used to put a quart of ATF into a tank of 20 gallons of Diesel fuel to clean injector nozzles. I did it when Fuel Economy was down or I suspected misfire. I don't know if you can benefit from ATF in your fuel at such serious cold, but on video it looks like you have some light colored smoke coming out the exh pipe and an occasional puff with a sputter that sounds like a flat-out misfire, maybe injectors are not spraying good. My 2¢. OK. ben/ michigan

yes we add the fuel conditioners and lube to keep the injectors happy thansk

You can add 2 stroke oil to the Diesel.. works good also.. it will bring back an injection pump on a 6.5 L diesel if it won’t run.. not a fix , but might help you get home .

@@462ANIMAL Thanks, my days with Diesels are done. I only have a couple of Ag tractors and a lawn tractor that are Diesel. Too much upkeep and I really don't like the smell of Diesel Fuel, exhaust or the noise and vibration. Diesels remind me of "work" and I'm done w/ that also. tnx though. ben/ michigan
