D99 Q (R68A) Orange (S) - Bay 50 to Prospect park

I'm STILL finding stuff that's new to me! Orange S train just sitting there. Neat.

The Orange S was used for the grand steeet shuttle during the 80s and 90s when the B/D couldn’t use 6th ave and they used broadway and were yellow, the shuttle ran from 57th street 6th ave to grand street

The B99 route was discontinued in May 2021. You mean the D99, which is the shuttle between Coney Island and Bay 50th St. The route is run by Ulmer Park Depot in Brooklyn.

Noice, but a slight misconception since this is actually the D99. Apparently instead of just naming the shuttle the D Shuttle or a non 99 route, they named it the D99 as the D Train shuttle. The B99 was actually a past route that ran to serve essential workers at nights during the pandemic until the subways fully reopened. Along with the M99 and Bx99, the B99 was discontinued, as well as the buses that served people to get their vaccine, the Q98V and the B98V, were both discontinued. I am unsure why the prefix is D instead of it just being a regular D Shuttle bus.

I remember when the R-46 was cutting edge. Then, problems started setting in, namely, cracks appearing in the frame supporting the motor. That's why the MTA extensively tests its rolling stock now...

There’s 2-4 R68/As that run on the q each day but the R46s TO MANY OF THEM! See them every time i am heading to school it’s never fun

The a train doesn’t have that many r46s left so the c has 4 r46 and more r179 but you may be unlucky to get a r46 on the a or c more r211a’s
