Math didnt blow up until he put years in the game and got middle-aged. I think he gets upset when his co-hosts generate instant fame and are able to build relationships within the industry from his platform. I think he feels like he didn't have access to those resources early on in his career, and podcasting became a blessing for him later on in his life after his dreams of rapping didn't workout. So now, I believe he feels like his team needs to earn their bones instead of gaining resources, networking, access to events, famous people, etc in less than a year from simply being associated with his show. But these co-hosts add value to the show, and Champ has a unique backstory of being a lifelong prisoner damn near who straightened his life up. He fit perfectly for the show, especially considering the barbershop setting. Mecca, him, and Math represent three distinct personalities in the hood. Mecca, the guy who never got in trouble or turned into a gangster; he was always a legitimate guy but he never turned his back on the hood. Champ, a guy who spent more years in prison than on the streets, but he redeemed himself and became a better man for it. Math, a man who put years into the rap industry/battle rap industry but obtained success in podcasting, so he's able to relate to the struggle of your dream not coming true...but being resilent enough to make it big in another field. That's good energy, but one thing about working with an all-male cast, egos will clash..they all have families to take care of and their own goals..and none of them are young pups who have years to waste on being an intern.

Champ would be better off starting his own podcast. He has prior experience conducting interviews, a valuable network of contacts, and presents himself as being well-spoken and responsible. I have no doubt that he would be successful. For the amount of work that he put in for Math, and for his own obligations that he has to take care of, it's clear that Math was exploiting him. What Flip has to understand is that Champ left out of principle. You don't go and tell someone that has worked hard for you and say, "You know what, you didn't get us a sponsor for this episode, so I'm not going to pay you." Champ had to go out of his way and practically beg and plead with Math to call up the guest he wasn't too keen on having come back for another episode, but the video got over a million views nonetheless, further proving it was a good move. With Champ going out of his way and picking up/dropping off Math at home, opening/closing the shop, maintaining the set space, and personally securing guests on the show, he was without a doubt being underpaid. Math has this narcissistic personality that makes him look down on others as if he's a pharaoh, and insists that he "made" everyone that he's invited to be a show co-host. From the fact that the podcast has nearly a million subscribers you would think that paying Champ $400 wouldn't be a big deal, but it wasn't about that. It's about Math's greed and short-sightedness. Esso, Heineken, Champ... Same fate basically. When Mecca leaves that show Math is going to be in a desperate position. It's just a matter of when. As for Flip, continue to stand up for others who clearly do the wrong thing. That says a lot about you and your "close" friendship with Math.
