Da Ikramullah Gran Baba Kalam da

Born in Charsadda Pakistan, Ikramullah Gran Bacha commonly known as “Gran Baba” was a Pashto language poet, fiction writer and ghazal writer from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. Although he was unable to study beyond eighth grade, he managed to carve a niche for himself in Pashto literature. Throughout his life, Gran Baba worked as a farmer in his village and wrote poetry as a hobby. Peace, tolerance, humanism and love were some topics that found fine expression in Gran’s poetry. Poetry of Gran Baba was quite popular among people decades ago before its publication. Almost all noted singers have sung his numbers. A down to earth, Gran Baba was a favorite bard and household name for Pukhtun. He wrote the following three books:
1) Zama Ghazal
2) Jwand da khayal pa Aayeena ke
3) Spogmai
څومره نامه چی اوچتيږي ستا د بامه سره
هومره خوئیږمه اشنا د هره ګامه سره
اوس په خوبونو کښې هم مه راځه بدنامه به شې
کلي هر چا دي پریښودلې ما بدنامه سره
قاصده دا خبره بس ده چې انکار ئې اوکړو
څۀ له سلګۍ ئې راته شمارې د پيغامه سره
چې په ژوندون باندې محرومه د ژوندون ئې کړمه
اوس مې لحد ته کوزوی څۀ د ارامه سره
د چا دغم سرور مې واخستو نو مئۍ څۀ کوم
ما په وعظونو پریښې نۀ ده د دې جامه سره
هم ترې د مینې باور پورته هم د خلقو شولو
څۀ حادڅې شولې راپښې د اکرامه سره
