DA requests meeting with the President over state of local government

The Democratic Alliance has requested a meeting with President Cyril Ramaphosa regarding what it describes as "musical chairs" in the country’s municipalities. This request comes after the DA-led coalition in Tshwane was removed via an ANC-sponsored motion of no confidence on Thursday. DA Gauteng Leader Solly Msimanga shares his thoughts on the situation.

It’s is the voters who want a GNU type in Gauteng and it’s municipalities, not the Alex Mafias. If they don’t do that, you know that ANC Gauteng will die in 2026 LGE. ANC/EFF coalition is a disaster. Ekurhuleni lost its clean audit and services dropped in Joburg and Ekurhuleni. In Emfuleni it’s worse, it can’t access its bank accounts anymore because it owes Eskom R8 billion rand.
