Its saddening that todays generation does not listen to these Ghazals and Music because there is an overall stigma of Pashto Music because of those rubbish songs featuring inappropriate actors and dances. Todays generation does not know Khyal Muhammad, Rafiq Shinwari, Gulzar Alam, Sardar Ali etc. I feel very lucky as a 15 year old to know these artists as most of my aged fellows have a stigma around overall Pashto Music.

@@GUDARR My father was president of the Pashto Literature Club of Edwardes College Peshawar so he taught me Pashto script and i had a curiosity about Poems of Ghani Khan, i listened to Sardar Ali Takkars songs on Ghani Khan's poetry, then i listened to some Khyal Muhammad songs, i didnt like his songs but when i heard a cassette of him that my father had i was very interested in him, i searched a lot of his songs and i found immense joy in his Ghazals more than todays English songs or Urdu songs.

@@GUDARRthis is the real music. That’s why even though I was born in the US I listen to it. Poets like Qalandar Mohmand, Khatir, Gulistan, Malang Jan, the real contributors to Afghan culture
