All I can think is that the DA40NG is an incredibly smooth, easy to fly, fun and reliable aircraft while I watch these videos.

Micke, fascinating to watch the process. If you do more of these would it be possible to post the IFR route details so those of us who sadly just fly in simulators can recreate some of your trips?

Wonderful flights.... Thanks for sharing... 20:36 Lake Salda is a mid-size crater lake in southwestern Turkey, within the boundaries of Yeşilova district of Burdur Province. NASA says the minerals and rock deposits at Salda are the nearest match on earth to those around the Jezero Crater where the spacecraft landed and which is believed to have once been flooded with water.

nice,,, wonder why it still only says 14 gal tanks when they are 20 ,, not updated software or something
@MickeLang4 жыл бұрын
Hi there, that's a good point but there is a logical answer for it. If you take a look at the fuel system of the DA40 NG you have the standard tanks and the long range tanks. The fuel quantity probe is located across the standard tank and the DA40 was initially only built with the standard tanks. Then the long range tanks option was added and why should you put one (actually two, one for each side) more probe in there when you can do it the way it is now? In my opinion this was a smart move because you have less mechanical parts which could fail, you save weight (just a little but hey lighter is better) and you don't have to update the fuel calculation software -> Money and work hours saved. Personally I think that was a great idea. Let me know what you think :)
@MAGApepe4 жыл бұрын
@@MickeLang well one good reason would be so you know how much fuel on board you have,,, imagine that lol,, pretty sure the north American ones have it showing 20 each side

@@MickeLang another reason to have the 6X 2 gallons recorded is for CG and W&b calculation

hi Micke i like your videos because of covid i can't fly as much as i wanted to ,.. question did you ever consider "survival" or similar when you do this trips over extreme real areas ? I have my minimal pack (fits metal tin box ) and "magic drinking straw" on body when i do long overland trips like norway what do you do ?

Great video! What’s the average speed and fuel consumption on this leg with the DA40? Would you recommend the proflight series 2 above the A20 in a DA40
@MickeLang4 жыл бұрын
Thanks! About 135kt true and the average fuel flow of around 6.3 GPH. Depends on how long you fly, the in ear starts to get uncomfortable after around 4.5 hours in the ear but everything under 3 hours I would recommend it, for sure. Especially for me with my height :P

Post COVID-19 I would like to have a trial lesson and see where it goes. A nearby flight school has a many craft including a DA40 (at extra cost) what that be a wise choice to a first flight?
