I got the gloomies
You’d get them too
If you knew everyday would be spent
Pushing around a childhood friend
Knowing you’d never play badminton again
I got the gloomies
They’re bringing me down
Cos we used to like it a lot
We used to love to whack that shuttlecock
Now we’ll never play badminton
Or hopscotch or leapfrog
Forget British bulldog
Tag, tug of war and truce
And there’s no skip rope or red rover
There’s no more four leaf clovers
No Marco Polo, tip, no duck duck goose
We used to love going out and playing games
All night and all day
All night and all day
Now he can’t play checkers and he can’t play chess
He makes a move and leaves a goddamn mess
Sometimes I feel like I am losing my shit
But not as much as Tim
Not as much as him
But it’s not about me
Though I wish it could be
I live with my pain
And try and think positively
Yeah, I had the gloomies
I’m over that now
There’s no need to be upset
I’ll just find me a new best friend
And know that I’ll play badminton again
Oh, it’s no disaster
I’ll just find me brand new partner
And I know that I’ll play badminton again
And I know that I’ll play badminton again
Yeah, I know that I’ll play badminton again
