DAB+ Emergency Warning System

This video demonstrates an emergency warning broadcast via DAB+ to a receiver with slideshow functionality. This video was created by Commercial Radio Australia, silicon chip manufacturer Frontier Silicon, receiver manufacturer Revo and DAB+ end-to-end provider Radioscape. This video was first shown at the ABU Digital Broadcasting Symposium 2014 in Kuala Lumpur. Warning messages are relayed in both English and Malay. The gaps in telco coverage become critical in emergency situations like Australia's recent bush fires and Sri Lanka's tsunami devastation. Emergency warnings over the broadcast network are more reliable and robust, cover a greater area and are not subject to congestion.
