I think they burial the death not deeper into the ground, so it could be raccoon and wolf's or city pigs dough into the death. back in laos today hmong dead body only buring 1 foot under ground, this is happened if they not buried the dead body very far away from the city or village. If the cemetery near the city it should be fence like in America.

+Ken Lee Then that chicken didn't do a good job. It became the cause for scavengers to dug up the graves. Ok but serious now. From what I read, then "txiv taw kev" had already showed the dead the way and took him all the way to the gates of hell. Thats why when the spirits there ask the dead who brought him there. He was told to tell them that the one who brought him there had "eyes as big as a owl, ears as big as the bat, and he came this year but went back last year". It was to fool the spirits there so it would not come after the "taw kev" guy. Chicken do not have spirit or soul. How can it guide the dead person's soul to the afterlife. Maybe it's just the OG's way of calming there fear of the unknown because they were too superstitious to investigate to truth. So generations to generations it was told. Interesting.
