I changed my mind after the daban astraea released almost two years before the p-bandai with a lot more accessories for 1/4 of the price. At this year and age the supernova and daban kits are equal, if not better than Bandai scummy ways. I know some guys will defend Bandai with all they got, but as someone from a country that is not USA, I can't afford a hobby where a single kit costs 70% of the minimum wage while daban costs 30%, sometimes 15%. I say if you have the money, get the originals (even when they suck with accessories), but please don't support p-bandai gatekeeping the kits from their own fanbase.

I agree. The HG FC Rose and Maxter made me start to lose faith in Bandai. They could make so much more money do instead of hate keeping kits like those, they just printed them in small pre-order amounts or had their OWN online store for more limited items, but not necessarily P-Bandai.

Honestly I'd still buy from Bandai, no matter how scummy they may be recently, bootleggers like Daban are even scummier. I dont hate people who do buy from Daban, I just like mine original.(I live in Asia not USA, most hobbies are expensive, that's just how it is)

I love how Tomino saw this from back when Turn-A was aired, he make that series because he didnt trust Bandai. And then Fukuda come and make Gundam SEED, Tomino was mad at him because he make Turn A to shut up Bandai's mouth. And then we have this incident now, the Leaked kit that we got from Metaverse was from Gundam SEED, and it was the Protagonist MS too. Man, the Irony

Even before the CAD Leak we already got very first PB knockoff kit which is HGAC Astray Load Omega I don't know if we can consider HG Astray Red Dragon since it's exclusive kit only. Leak may boost potential production of new knockoff kits and that would be happened that's when the revenge will start 😈

As someone who was a Bandai gunpla purist for almost 2 decades, my time away from Gunpla recently has been used in the minature hobby, specifically Warhammer. I look at Bandai nowadays in what I personally think is a decline in the model superioity they once had and towards a company looking to make a quick buck when given the opportunity. Very similar to Games Workshop. Not to say either of these companies are garabge now, still prodcuce bangers, just not as much as they use to. We as gunpla modelers are facing a revilation in this hobby in what we deem worthy of our money and time. Its why so many in both hobbies are now dipping their toes into these smaller and what some may deem "knock offs" or "off brand" companies to enjoy our hobby to the fullest. I have been really impressed that Daban and several other companies, along with many new Resin Conversion studios are continuing to progress and steadily evolve. My last 4 out of 5 builds have been resin conversions and one "knock off" kit that was surprisingly good even being a few years old, Probably on par with early 2010's seed MG kits

It's mostly just like Bandai getting the web-3.0 experience, but this wont like effect their Artificial-scarcity and Live-service operations without regulations from multiple governments being placed on them to deter them from creating those services. This won't do anything to P-Ban, which is super good in Japan and could have been an international storefront, like Amiami, but is instead used to create artificial scarcity and encourages scalpers

bandai simply dont care. ppl have been voicing their woes with the pbandai shop not limiting orders per person making it impossible to get the pb kits at msrp. they are also making more pb releases than retail lately, esp in the mastergrade scene. 2023 only have 1 freaking retail mg release which is the zeta ver ka, instead they keep making random shits like dinosaur skeleton or celebrity figures that nobody asked for

If you're so scared of it then just download it on a virtual machine, open the files, create a fake Google account, save the files on a new format, upload it and send the share link to your real acc so you can use outside the virtual machine without fear.

I've always hated pbandai since i heard about it. I knew that one day they will release my most wanted kit as a pbandai. Now i cant get the kit cuz of pbandai, for my opinion bandai is just straight up gatekeeping. THEY HAVE THE MOLDS! WHAT'S STOPING THEM FOR RELEASING IT IN RETAIL? They have release 1 retail mg thisyear and they release a dozen of mgs in pbandai. No wonder why people are buying bootlegs

Advance of Zeta becoming a P-Bandai exclusive brand has cost the company untold riches and will continue to do so. I'm not about to fight scalpers in dark alleys for a damn Woundwort that should've been a regular launch in the first place just so I can turn around and do it again a million more times for whatever Woundwart accessories I want to buy for what amounts to a sci-fi Barbie doll, that's ridiculous, especially when I'm paying a *premium* for the privilege to do so. Daban is good and bad it does not really matter what people say about Bandai problem is Gundam has a lot of the original concept that was never been used due to budget or animation issues going about and the storytelling can be sometime a little bit exaggerated or cut short Daban sometimes use already existing’s idea half the time some their on original spin into it but the time it’s stolen idea from catalogs that was planned to be released later in the future so keep that in mind not everything see at it seems ?! - people think bandai is always expensive making mold is not that simple not easy either - new kit re-engineer or use existing more to cut costs. Plus there’s also important costs. - Daban is cheap but is not worth the time to even fix all the problem that the item you get because it’s cheap a knock off of your favorite brand that you support and also being cheap yourself ?!

Some of the re-use and PB decision is unaccepted for me, who supported Bandai for 15 years or more, look at the Tristan, look at Zaku III Twlight, look at Strike Dagger, look at Rose and Maxter nowadays, does these called acceptable to you? 3d printing will never matter in the gunpla fanbase, since it's resin modeling and that's a minority

that is beginning to be an outdated opionion nowadays. 3D printing for the average person is very much here, whether your making it yourself or purchasing it. Resin has its flaws same with the plastics these companies use, but it has rapidly improved over just the few years it has exploded into the modeling hobby. Custom conversions and effect parts are very popular with the diehard gunpla community, myself included. My last 4 out of 5 fully completed builds were projects done with 3d resin kits. There are some very solid conversion companies that continue to get more and more popular, providing awesome detailed parts and unqiue mobile suits Bandai hasnt made yet and most likely never will like Gundam Delta Kai for example

Delta Kai, i assume you mean a 1/100 as the hguc obviously exists

@paktahn Yes this is true, most are. Im only pointing out that the minority of people who make or buy resin parts are ever growing in this hobby. It can be seen in many plastic model hobbies. I own the HG Delta Kai. I was referring to an MG version not ever being made

@datkat2001 that's a fair point, although it doesn't take much to learn how to protect yourself, same as painting or using a hobby knife. And yes a 1/100 haha. I like the HG kit but it's super fragile, and something with that many detailed and pointy parts shouldn't be in that scale
