I visited Myanmar in 2018 and it has been my favourite place ever since. It's a beautiful country filled with the kindest people I've ever met, I'll never forget all the smiling Mingalabars... Since the start of the civil war it has always been in my mind, good to see tourists are still visiting and the people of Yangon are resilient. Peace and love from The Netherlands to the oppressed people of Myanmar 🫶 Hope to one day visit again in peaceful times ☮

I really miss my country, the food, the people and even the trishaws. It brings so much happiness to me when I saw you not asking for any discounts. @@Jan_1212 Nah. You don’t need to have extreme beliefs to boycott the military products which literally reinforces the crimes and sins the military is committing
@KhaMoonHtaw8 ай бұрын
You can clearly see that the military has brought different problems in every aspects of Myanmar. They have killed citizens who are apposed to them and even burnt villages if they could not get control of them. There is inflammation, and they use the taxes to buy weapons to kill citizens instead of improving our lives. Avoiding these products are one of the small things we could do to support those who are fighting against the military. If you are assuming we people who are fighting against the ones committing genocide as being ‘extreme’, then I am sure you have no sympathy towards the people who are currently suffering.
@waitun30198 ай бұрын
@@Jan_1212 Of course, we can’t defy every single business products that might be related with military in some ways. But it doesn’t make it right to say “ Don’t boycott the products solely related to military “. Let’s say “Not smoking do not prevent lung cancer but if that is one of the main concerns, you clearly should stop it , right? And what made you think the statements are made only based on one side view? Ironically, It is more easy to see the righteous from a bird eye view. I am Burmese currently livng in Yangon, Myanmar, and it has become increasingly difficult to live. Safety concerns make it risky to go out late, even in the city center. Poor economic management, recent conscription laws, and harsh military rule are driving unprecedented numbers of people to flee the country. The exchange rate has plummeted from 1,300 MMK per USD before the coup to 4,000 MMK per USD. Most foreign direct investment has withdrawn due to unstable exchange policies and harsh trade rules. Over 5 million Burmese live abroad, and many more have fled since the coup. I myself need to go back to Melbourne where I stayed there over a decade. The ongoing civil war makes it unsafe for tourists. Until stability and safety are restored, tourists should avoid Myanmar. Local residents face daily challenges, and the international community needs to support efforts toward peace and better governance.

Well said. I won’t risk myself to go there. It’s surely No-Go zone.

It is so sad indeed to see these friendly people suffer. They are very friendly and kind. I went there back in 2019.
