Oh yeah, our night trains are like you described. Better use Intercity trains where it is possible (it is also not a fast ride). But still there are no intercity trains from Lviv to Odesa (too long distance). And the problem with booking was anticipated - that was not official website of Ukrzaliznytsya (official site is also available in English). Sorry for that stress. But in Ukraine everything could be solved;) And in Ukrainian trains it is very common to ask co-passengers to exchange the booked places. You should not worry about that;)

I also agree with that. But unfortunately the head of Odessa is Russian by nationality. Moreover, he is a member of a political party to enemy to Ukraine - Opposition Platform for Life. It’s a paradox, but I don’t understand why the inhabitants of Odessa, a Ukrainian city, choose the head of the city, a person enemy to Ukraine? Just from the outside it may seem that the city is predominantly Russian, not Ukrainian, and this is very sad. Therefore, I am not surprised if I see in English the word "Odessa" is written with two "s".

'If you don't include Russia, Ukraine is the largest country in Europe' I'm sure Mr Putin would not be happy with this statement as Russia or Ukraine are not part of Europe...! 🤔

I guess you should have asked for the TV remote control by that train attendant coming to you (otherwise it was her duty to offer it). I used to do it in E.Europe 10-15 years ago in some hotels coz "guests regulary lose them".

@@dabbleandtravel In case you will continue your adventures in E.Europe please take initiative. In some situation you should ask for something being expected by Wesis to be a natural thing. You will get everything but after "registration". I am 100% sure you would have got much more for 1st class incl. water, beer etc. but the attendat took it for herself becouse "those foreigners did not need it!"

@@bodypositiv6566 Well these overnight trains are never marketed as "1st class" or "2nd class" etc, there's no such grade here. It's just 3 types of accommodation - 2 beds, 4 beds and 6 beds with no doors. And there's no such thing as beer or coffee or sandwich included in the price, only tee which you'd better not drink due to quality of water. But Intercity trains are another story, you can have a good coffee there.
