I have to leave a comment. I started buying harps Roughly 30 years ago.I had a blues band In Cleveland Around that time.I can't tell you how many harps I bought back then But just roughly maybe 25 or so. On 7-23-21 I listened to your review on these harps, I've also talked to Rockin Ron's about them, And I decided to buy 2 harps,A noble low D.And a noble Bb. I can honestly say that Out of all the harps I have ever bought, these two are the ONLY HARPS that were able to play with the same pressure from hole 1 to hole 10 out of the box! What quality! I am sold. Thank you and Rockin Ron's.

Hey there Rich, so glad you like them! I have another review coming on the compromise tuned ones also, but man it's great to hear you are happy! Take care brother and thanks for the support!

Wow! That says a lot about them. That’s hard to find in a harp. I might have to give one a try.

@P Leasum Great review. I was wondering if you're planning or have already done (didn't see any videos on your VIDEOS LIST) a review on the Hohner Crossover. I'd like to hear your opinion. Thanks!

@ P Leasum - Thanks for this review. I will try try the Story first. One thing I noted in another review of the same harps is that the Story, at least, has a longer body than a Marine Band. I like the longer body as it allows for better "trigger finger" moves, pushing the harp left or right with index fingers to target X part of the harp [as opposed to a head move]. I like that there are now so many good harp brands and models to experiment with nowadays, the Dabells are piquing my curiousity. To Ron's it is, again ! Peace.

Hey there Robert! Excellent!! I hope you find them as great as I have. You're right about the brands thing. Right now is a great time to be a harmonica player with all the great stuff that's out! Peace to you too my friend.

Thanks Paul! Have you also noticed that Rockin Ron's also is carrying the new Seydel Symphony 48? That looks pretty cool.
@Pleasum5 жыл бұрын
Hey there Tim! I have! I had a Symphony for a while but not the new 48. I would be interested in seeing if there is a difference. It does look pretty cool for sure and it isn't surprising Rockinrons has'em! He's got everything right?!

I gave both model harps and I agree that they are professional grade instruments. The Noble especially. I get them in minor keys. Gotta say though, that the Story reeds might prove week. I had one in Low D and the 7 blow reed went south in only a few months. Im nervous about leaning on one at this point.

Hey there Jan! Yes! You are right! Might not have been a bad idea. I was trying to cover a lot of ground in less time, but should probably have given a bit more demonstration. I appreciate the feedback and thanks so much for you support!

ET tuning on both of them? Just like Golden Melody and Suzuki Fabulous right?
@Pleasum5 жыл бұрын
Yes but I have it on good authority they are coming out with compromise tuned also!

@@Pleasum thanks for your input. I prefer Equal Temperament tuning over any other tuning system and there are only few options available when it comes to Eq tuned harmonics. Good to learn about DaBell. Now I have to figure out if they can ship ship to India. 😇

Hey there Curtis! Yes they are for right now. I've been told they are working on that so we should see something from them hopefully.

If you want a great Chinese harp, get an Easttop Blues Player. Legit one of the best harps I have ever played. Perfect chords, effortless bends, and overblows ootb. Absolute 10/10, and only £30 in the UK. MBDs are like £45, Manjis are £50, Crossovers are £55, and 1847s are £60, £75, and £95, so Blues Players are quickly becoming my fav harps.

its a good review, but incomplete, i have not seen a reviewer who also open the cover to admire the reeds etc

I was given a D Noble by a buddy to have my well-known customizer do his magic because some reeds were a little sticky and one was completely stuck. My customizer, who's one of my best friends, opens it, and when he put on his magnifying lenses, he said someone already worked on it. He said to ask the harp's owner if somebody already worked on it, he said nope. So, it appears DaBell is trying to emboss without much skill. This was the summer of 2023. Fast forward to 3-16-24. I sort of knew this guy from another friend and turns out he's a DaBell rep. He never knew i played harp until that night. He asked if i wanted one and i said, hell yes! It was loud in the small club and i couldn't hear what name he was saying....it registered as a foreign name in my head. I said you have a LowF? He brings back a box full of harps and he's got one. Now, I had lost my reading glasses, so i had no idea what brand it was bc i couldn't read it. All i could make out was Contender. I started hittin' blow n draw octaves right up to the 6-10. All worked great for a LowF with nice response , except the 3 blow...a bit flat. That can be fixed. And ive found i can blow bend the low end on this LowF! Every harp i own is customized from Sp20s, Thunderbirds, MBs n Deluxes, and several LO, Harpmasters, and East Tops with Sp20 plates. So, I'll let my buddy open this up and see what he finds. That is "IF" he'll do it bc he didn't like what he found on the other one. Sometimes, he's a stubborn ole mule 😂. But, i think this LowF may be a keeper! Forgot to nention, the Contender i noticed immediately that it looks like a direct copy of Suzuki's Bluesmaster. However, the Bluesmaster sucks air and is thin-toned bc of the crappy reeds. This DaBell is much much thicker in tone 🤙. I dont even know if Suzuki makes them anymore. So, we'll see what happens.😮
