It’s so tragic that endeavor was so singled-minded that he never even thought to ask his wife, the ice-quirk user, to show Touya how she makes ice or describe the internal sensations that correspond with her powerset. Dabi in my opinion is a interesting case. His fire originally started out an orangish red like his dads but overtime became blue due to the heat intensity training. This shouldve been the first sign that he technically can handle the heat since he said that the flames didnt really hurt him even though the burns were obvious. His flames blue color also represents the nitrogen based ice inside of it, which allos it to turn blue. Which is kinda ironic if you think about it. Why? Because the external use of his quirk is hot while the internal is freezing cold. His doctor stated that he had ice resistance but no heat resistance meaning he has to have always had an ice side to his quirk, which makes his showdown between him, Rei, Enji and Shoto so irionic. Shoto being the son with the perfect external combo but had his parents internal temperature drawbacks. While Toya on the other hand, had the perfect combination all around. His ability to use extreme heats and still be alive means there is a cold/ice factor within his genetics. Giving him a hot outside but cold inside. There are many theories as to what is causing this to finally come to light but in all honesty, I believe that our boy Toya here has legitimate ice running through his veins and always has. Otherwise his blue fire should've never happened. I mean, his blood has a boiling point, but it is also like liquid nitrogen, cooling his body down just as fast as it is heating up. That is why Toya is still alive. Now as to how I think and would like for this to end. I would like for this to end with all the Todorokis, including Toya, to survive and Toya placed into therapy or a mental hospital like Rei was. But I think it wont end this way. Yes there will be someone who survives the initial encounter, but Toya is garunteed to die along with possibly one of his parents. In my honest opinion, I believe Rei will be the one to die because she wasn't there for him as much as she should have and she has more guilt than even Enji. Enji will survive but barely and that is only because he blacks out and Rei saves him before he burns and hits the ground. He must live with his sins and the biggest mistakes being hospitalizing his wife and ignoring Toya instead of showing him the true nature of his fire and ehat it could truly do. So he has to live in order for this to truly be a proper ending. Shoto could possibly save both of them and he uses the ice fire due to his quirks nature but it is still too early to understand what can happen. This is what I think and personally, I hate being this gloomy when I know this isnt what others want to hear.

I feel like Toya's ice quirk is what's keeping his organs protected which is allowing him to keep going, even back when he was a child and nearly burned to death the first time. Its like it creates a mini protective shield against the blaze of his flames similar to how shotos ice and fire temperatures balance each other. the over use of his fire quirk and his ice resistance would explain why he would never show any negative signs of subconsciously over using an ice quirk (then again he's so burnt up by his flames i doubt any damage would be noticeable anyways), he was just never able to externalize the ice like shoto could which could mean the ice quirk was too strong for his child body to be able to control, maybe even stronger than his flames. and who knows, maybe he was subconsciously repressing it, everyone could see there was no respect in endeavor for Rei and Toya knew it; he wanted endeavors love and respect and if that meant suppressing everything that was his mothers side to be just like his father then so be it but his body had other plans which just sent him into a downward spiral of denial, sadness, and anger and considering Toya's quirk seems connected to his emotions.... that's a recipe for a disastrous quirk fail.

I think that their lives and deaths are all going to boil down to one thing: Can Shoto make it there in time. I think Shoto has the ability to enhance his icefire to the point to become a fire extinguisher that Rei can boost with her own ice. Ida should be able to get him there in time. However, I don't see Touya surviving, even after being cooled down. His brain is fried completely, and the internal and external damage he's done to himself is too severe. And I don't think Endeavor is going to be able to continue working as a hero afterwards with all of his own injuries.

It can be that Dabi Ice fire quirk works like this as flame on outside while ice protection in the inside which was dormant till now unlike Shoto who has ice on the right and flame on the left but he had awakened both from the born. In case of Dabi maybe he had awakened his ice protection when he 1st experienced his near death in his young age and which is a part fact that he was still alive until now as the doctor himself said he would'nt survive more than a month but he did, and another fact of intense hatred towards his father.

Has anyone connected the blue flames to possibly be a reference to cold fusion? Cold fusion is both extremely hot and cold, but I the DC universe it could touch something and not stop burning unlike an normal fire would. Cold fusion also refers to Nuclear energy or in reverse, so if you think about it could the flames be put out after it reaches critical state or will it have to be set off in order for the energy to dissipate?

To me The way I understood how the Ice quirk side of Dabi works is. Since he had no resistance to fire but has frostbite resistance and when he saw shoto hus his Powrr he did the same however since his quirk structure is different from Shoto the side effects are also different. That using his resistance to Ice he is ciolding down his body while he burst his blue flames wildly. So yeah In short cooling down his inner body as he is burning his outer body.

Okay theory time, I think what’s going to happen is Rei is going to try to cool down Toya and then Natsuo and Fuyumi will join in just in time for Shoto to show up and help Enji out in stopping Toya. I think that Toya is going to die with his family surrounding him and they’ll all be able to lay him to rest alongside with everything they’ve been through. It started with his birth it should end with his death in my opinion, I also noticed that now Enji and Rei share matching facial scars with Shoto (if you look Rei’s face is burnt as well as her dress and her arms) I think that the scars are a symbol of neither one of them has to carry this burden alone they have to work together as a family to extinguish the flames they created

And I don’t necessarily think cooling him off will save him by any means but it will stop him from being a literal ticking time bomb to save everyone from the explosion but in the process they’re going to have to watch their son/brother/family die (once again) in front of them and will basically have to leave his ashen body to be lost in the middle of a war zone not being able to properly bury him but to more so gain closer over Toya. I think that would be a great way to kinda close out the Todoroki family arch because the whole dying along with your sins thing is INCREDIBLY cheap and lazy imo and Horikoshi is way to talented of a writer to do that. But I just think the matching face scars have something to come into play later on

And even if he did survive physically by some miracle (maybe an Eri ex machina?) he’d still be so mentally damaged that he’d just be reduced to a living man child constantly calling out for his father and brother to play with him and to look at him. That’s a fate worse than death imo, and even still that would KILL Enji and Rei to have to see their son who they risked their entire family and their lives to save be like that. At least with him dying he can finally be at peace and never feel anger or pain again.

Dabi has resistance to ice externally (skin, body) while but the fire resistance has always been protecting him internally like his organs (heart, eyes, brain. ect) Shoto’s ice ability is on his right and his flame on the left which may be symbolic to dynamic of his parent’s relationship ,. he felt his mother ( ice quirk) has done the best she could and was there for him in certain aspects, and vice versa to endeavors abilty being on his left. The same dynamic can be seen in Dabi. deep down inside of him he is like his mother, but what we see, is endeavors anger, hate, and frustration.

I’ve been saying that Dabi had some ice component within him and people arrogantly ignored that segment of my comment so I can’t say it’s a shocker to me cause again, copying Shoto’s phosphorus move isn’t something you can just do with heat alone. You need hot and cold to do it and that was a loud foreshadowing of Dabi having a little of Rei’s ice. Not trying to sound harsh, but you shouldn’t have missed something like that. I have to admit that I do feel a little bad for Dabi but it doesn’t ignore the fact that he was a messed up kid. Although his parents overlooked him, it doesn’t excuse him for murdering other people.

I have a theory that Dabi's latent ice quirk is entirely different from Rei's, but his fire side is an exact match to his father, because of the slight genetic difference he has, I am guessing that the latent ice quirk factor never activated because Enji's quirk was dominant. Now that Dabi is pulling off phosphorous, it is showing how the latent ice part of his quirk has always been laced, deep beneath the surface, a skin and body of flames, to contain a growing heart of ice, as his coldness towards human life grows as he grew.

i think he subconsciously suppressed his ice quirk due to wanting to be just like his father and he could see that endeavor didnt show any respect or value towards rei or her quirk. i think his ice quirk is what saved him when he was a kid, it could have created a protective barrier around his organs to keep his flames from killing him.

I'm imagining that Rei Shoto and Endeavor will hug Dabi while attacking him. Shoto will use Phospor while Rei and Endeavor basically supercharge Shoto. It'll be super dramatic and sad but they'll finally put him to rest since it's a shonen maybe he'll just cool off and cry blood one last time.

Well, you have to have a quirk in order to awaken it in the first place. Deku either never had a quirk, or the doctor took it away. Either way, the answer is most likely no. If he had a dormant quirk he'd be dead by now. That's the whole point of the vestiges telling him they died because they weren't quirkless.
