It's not right for the spirit to ask for the old man's daughter but I still feel sad and bad for that spirit bc even though they're not living and they're dead, they still have feelings and emotions and they still don't want to be wandering around alone. Am I the only one who felt bad for the spirit?

Don’t worry. You’re not alone. I also feel really bad because the bat spirit really helped the man to be so wealthy and flourished. Yet, the man can still do such a thing. Tho, I do also agree that it was his own daughter and this was the only way to save the daughter.

@@fujok.9733 if I was in the old man's situation I most definitely and most likely do the same to free my kid from the spirit but still I would feel bad and guilty bc the spirit really did helped out alot I mean without the spirit's help that old man wouldn't have good living lifestyle, him and his family will keep struggling but asking for someone's life definitely tips the balance even though the spirit helped alot. A life or a soul is way more precious than all the money and gold in the world

Hmong people are very backwards minded. The old man shouldn't allow the spirit to help him in the first place if he didn't want the spirit to become a part of his family and that includes marrying his daughter. If the man was a person with a good conscience then instead of burning down his house with the spirit in it, he should've persuaded the spirit to marry someone on the spirit side as well because I get that he's lonely. I know in Chinese culture they marry the dead so that they're not lonely in the spirit realm. The man should've go sought a family who had a deceased daughter and ask if he can marry her to the spirit instead. Or go seek a Buddhist Monk for help as I'm sure they handle problems with peaceful solutions. Hmong people can be very mean when it comes to resolving issues. It does not need to end badly.
