You truly are the best beauty guru on KZbin! I’ve watched so many gurus and like so many gurus but I always always come back to your videos for recommendations and tutorials. I swear every time I’m at cvs I’ll be sitting in an aisle searching “Dacey cash drugstore concealers” or something like that and then will just randomly choose something from your list and it’s always worked out so far! I’d really love to see when you go from this dark brown to the very first time you highlight your hair. It doesn’t need to be a tutorial (cause that could be super stressful) but more so of a “highlight my hair with me”. I think we all wanna see your highlight/balayage process so much and that’s what most of us mean when we wanna see you color your hair. Cause I personally LOVE when you build up to blonde and really wanna see the first steps to get your initial highlights :)

How often do you box dye your hair? I’m thinking of doing something like this but I’m not sure how to plan for it maintenance-wise!
@DaceyCash5 жыл бұрын
Every 4-6 weeks. My hair needs to be recolored somewhat often because the areas where i had the light, light blonde pieces do not hold color as much. I chose not to protein fill this time around but protein filling is always an option with lighter hair to make the color last longer.

@DaceyCash5 жыл бұрын
I just say that because from past experience anything around a level 4 or 5 turns out dark on my hair if it's in a box! Because it's a level 20 developer, it doesn't have that much power to lift. When I was bumping my base up to that super light chestnut brown, (which was a level 6) I was using a vol 30 developer 😊

You make me want to go run out and buy it bc lately I've been wanting to color my hair so badly but its been 3 years since I've colored it and I literally grew out all my natural hair color so I know I should leave it be but I miss the shiney beautiful look after dying it ugh! Halp! Im thinking of getting a hair gloss to give that look. I really really want to add some warmth tho ugh I want a chocolate brown my hair is just like a neutral dark brown naturally. If anyone has any ideas of what I could do or maybe hair gloss so I dont damage my hair it would be greatly appreciated!!!

I feel like when I use box dye that is labeled dark brown, whether it’s cool or warm, it always ends up black. I have very dark brown hair but its not black. My hair texture is fine, so I wonder if my absorbs the dye much more quickly than yours might, resulting in a more inky near black color. 😒 it’s annoying.

@DaceyCash5 жыл бұрын
You probably need to go to sallys and use a higher lift developer. Also, if you already have color on your hair and you're trying to lighten that color with another color - it won't work. Color can't lighten color. Those dye molecules are still in your hair and then they will react with the next round of color + developer you put on it. You might need to use some Color Oops and start fresh!
@elizabethburdiez92875 жыл бұрын

This john fried foam hair colour looks so nice, but I am a bit afraid to dye my hair with permanent colour, because I am not sure if I will love to stay brunette again... Omg this is such a surprise to me lol.... I’m 33 and have grey patches coming in.... i wish when I was a little younger I had enjoyed my natural color more and hadn’t messed with it so much.... I’m just like why are you even coloring it aren’t you naturally brunette? Anyway you do you boo 😘😋 ..... Since you DO like to color and are brunette.... have you ever tried Lush Caca Brun? There’s also Caca Marrón - both would look GORGEOUS on you, especially the Caca Marron. I’ve done it to cover my greys, and even before I had more greys I had tried it and liked it.... I love it bc it’s natural not chemical, it’s not damaging, it actually would make my hair super shiny, they have stated they do not use metallic salts so it won’t burn your hair.... I actually got some highlights this past summer and it worked fine. Personally I love the smell, people complain it’s messy but I think their technique isn’t that great :P :/ I’ve used an old squeeze bottle, what I liked to do to try to not build it up too much, was wearing gloves I’d section the hair, and almost apply it like I would a scalp treatment, concentrating and just laying it down at my roots, and then I would kind of massage it in, and down the shaft. It stops working if it dries out, it needs moisture/H20 to work, so about 1/2 way through I would spritz with a bunch of water, or briefly stand in the shower, to just halfway rinse it further down the shaft and let it keep working before a final rinse. This to me just let a little of my natural color still peek through towards the ends so the sun can still have a chance to lighten it a tiny bit in summer or give a natural ombré effect - More heat + more time = more color. So you can kind of customize or adjust the method to do it as more of a wash/conditioning treatment or a color treatment. Plastic wrap to keep the heat of your head in is supposed to bring out the red color more. If you want no red or auburn, the Brun is just brown. But the marron is an Auburn with a mix of the brown (they might use indigo in this one) + blended with a little bit of red (henna) and it would be SO gorgeous on you. Bet. Also to make it easier to mix, I just like, kinda shave mine and then chop it up, in the kitchen, kinda like I would to a hard Parmesan cheese, is like the consistency of it. Then when the hot water hits it it’s much easier to mix and you don’t have to work too hard at that point. The colors are very similar to what you have here so..... If you ever want to try something different! 🤷♀️ i Love LUSH 😋 I’m not even being paid lol It’d be fun to see you try them if you haven’t already. The Marron color would be .... omg so good on you 🤗😍
@bodybalancer5 жыл бұрын
PS for anyone interested in grey coverage- it works great- but I used to just use Brun, but that one doesn’t really “stick” to grey like the red henna does, so to get to brunette it becomes a two-step process, first the wash of the red or Rouge, then the Brun. They have 4 colors total, Rouge- red, Marron- Auburn, Brun- Brown, Noir- like a blue/black (especially beautiful on Asian hair) All of it looks especially nice on Asian hair bc it’s less porous, so more of the natural hair color underneath shows through and it ends up looking like this shiny, transparent glaze of color on top. Ugh it’s just gorgeous. Also, I find the product to be a LOT. So I have pretty thick, but shorter hair than you, and I only use half of the bar, not the whole thing. But if you like really rich color then u could go all in... it’s just a lot it might be excessive or get messy. Anyway! Would love to see you try Lush if it’s something you’d be open to trying. Believe the Caca Marron would be stunning on you.
@DaceyCash5 жыл бұрын
Yes I'm naturally brunette! I've seen a lot of videos on the lush dyes, they look super interesting but also super messy and time consuming lol. I don't think those are for me! But thank you for all the amazing tips 😊
@bodybalancer5 жыл бұрын
Dacey Cash Alright well imma take my gloves off now.... Honey, don’t knock something until you try it. You’re too young to be that closed minded. It’s really not hard at all! Basically the same process as regular dye, which is also a little messy and you have to be careful with that anyway- and it’s not that hard. Gloves, a towel around the shoulders.... really no big deal. But unlike other companies, Lush actually cares about sustainability, reducing waste in their packaging, and not using toxic chemicals. If you’re closed minded, you could miss out on things you would end up loving. But whatever, you do you. I can lead horses to water, but if they want their toxic chemically contaminated, plastic wrapped water instead..... i can’t make em drink. :P And if anyone senses any annoyance in my tone- YEAH IT IS ANNOYING- when young people- Don’t have higher standards, of sustainability and social responsibility, for the products and companies we support and vote for with our dollars. I hold my degree in environmental studies. I was born in the mid 80’s, and probably have nearly decade on you, and was already studying this shit in high school in my AP class, when you were still, I don’t know, playing with Barbies. I have spent 1/2 my life trying to understand the issues we are facing as a global community. We might think little things like this are no big deal, and people like me, should just chill the fuck out right?...... But all these lifestyle habits? They add up. And when you’re an influencer??? You have a greater degree of responsibility. Im sure a lot of the videos you’ve seen? People do things for effect and attention and making a big dramatic mess or negative reviews? Sometimes just get more attention. They might also have like, no experience, and you’re witnessing their first time, and likely, they lack some simple common sense that would make the process just no big deal, easy. It’s basically the same process as regular dye. It’s really not difficult at all. I don’t understand why people make it out to be. So - when a sub like me suggests you try something new out...... Maybe take some time and give the requests of your subs more serious consideration before you flippantly dismiss them. Not everyone is getting the same education in this country and it’s a shame. If environmental studies courses were required as they should be? Then everyone would have a basic working knowledge of the science behind climate change and just how dead serious these issues are- such that making small adjustments or improvements in our choices and the standards upon which we base them- would seem worth it to us.
@bodybalancer5 жыл бұрын
Dacey Cash You’re young, dont have greys, and naturally brunette so.... Literally you don’t even have any real need to buy hair color products but if you are going to..... why not make them actually healthy instead of toxic? I could literally EAT Lush henna and it wouldn’t hurt me lol. Would you wanna eat some of your hair color??? It’s a good indication of toxicity, whether or not something would be harmful internally, you don’t really want to be using things that are poisonous internally even externally, they absorb through your skin, and get into your bloodstream. I hate to see young beautiful women basically poisoning themselves in the name of beauty. Besides which, coloring your hair is work! If you already have naturally beautifully colored hair, WHY are you going to waste your time and effort and money?????? Honey save it for when you go grey. Seriously. Tryna do you a freaking favor. You’re young and beautiful you don’t even need to do anything! You should be just enjoying that shit while it lasts. Don’t waste your time on this. I Swear to God. When you’re older, I promise lol, you’ll regret having wasted the time when you could’ve been doing other things simply enjoying yourself and your natural beauty and your life.
