Whew, what were they on over at Columbia? I guess they didn't have much in the way of budgets, but they were making some of the most unusual, offbeat cartoons around. That horse was such a GREAT character, whose voice and dialogue were so important to the whole dynamic. Once again this style of cartooning reminds me of what would come decades later on the hip cartoon tv shows, it's nothing like what the other studios were doing in the 40s, but it's brilliant.

This was like the 1940's Version of Paddy the Pelican (but at least this is better than Paddy the Pelican), and it's a shame that Dave Fleischer, Yes, THE DAVE FLEISCHER, The Brother of Max Fleischer, The Man who brought us iconic rubber hose characters like Popeye, Betty Boop and Bimbo, had to produce these second-rate Golden Age of Animation Cartoons. ):

That’s only the Paramount’s fault, because the leaders of that film company fired the Fleischer Brothers in 1942. I really dont understand why did that tragedy happen at Paramount studios.

@@Smacgregor88 And Mr. Bug bombed because Paramount execs sabotaged it. It seems that the whole Fleischer studio was embroiled in a huge family feud, and they kept dragging Paramount people into the fight. The executive corps was fed up to the back teeth with the whole thing and just wanted every Fleischer gone, plus they spotted an opportunity to seize ownership of the cartoon unit for themselves.
