Do you have a video on how to make a knife start to finish (or how to make a biface I am a beginner)

What ever happened to machine tools and three phase power? Kids today, and their new fangled ways! :) Can't get more traditional that what you're doing. Thanks for the vid. Love them all.

I think it had a lot to do with symmetry, both facial symmetry and cross sectional symmetry. A point that is finished by pressure flaking both edges of the same face (as most modern knappers do) will have a cross sectional shape like that of a recurve bow. Pressure flaking one edge of each face leaves both halves of each cross section the same. The goal of most modern knappers is to make an artistic looking point, but the old boys made points that needed to fly true and cut well.....

Looks nice and crisp- even if it wasn't HD your camera is of high enough quality anyway. Glad the tip worked!

cool ! HD actually available ; The focus on the hands and flint is perfect around 9:00 : it shows well the surface and shape of the flint piece, and how you work ;

Well it might, but I'd probably just focus more on the platform, check to see that it is not ground too much and not too wide, in other words isolated a bit. Check your support and angle of the biface. Be sure to support the piece with your finger just below where the hammerstone is impacting, this not only prevents breakage, but prevents the biface from tilting upon impact and allows the flake to travel further....

Beautiful work once again. HD on youtube is over rated in my opinion. Just hogs more bandwidth. In any case, the vid is nice and clear.

Nice job... i have been attempting to make some arrowheads from bottle bottoms. Then i found some old 3/8 flat glass and thought wow i can make it good with this...lol by the time i was done it looked like a arrowhead if you thought real hard on it, and that flat piece of glass could shoot around corners it was so curved...lol but i keep trying.. i will get it.

Wonder how those points were hafted and used. Nice work! Ever tried out Allergichobit's technique? I'm having trouble doing large points with it and wondering how to increase my support for large prices. Need help!

Well, looks like a success! Both in clarity of picture quality and in skilled craftsmanship! Is there a specific place you like to obtain your rock? Im looking for a supplier.

I wonder how these blades were hafted and used. Any ideas? Also, I've been using Allergichobits technique for knapping but I'm having trouble with breakage on larger peaces. Would the sandwich knapping technique stop this? Thanks Jim! Keep em coming I love the videos they have taught me a lot!

Jim. I live in eastern ohio and have recently got into knapping I do a lot in glass but im eager to get into some stone but as far as I can tell there is no natural stone near me that is workable I have tried twice buying "superior quality" Texas chert online. Both were terribly cracked up. Im talking fourty pounds of stone. Any tips on good sources of stone from trusted sources.
