But I have always tried to jam on music from every decade from the 50s until now in 2020. There is so much talent in the world. Jerry Cantrell just got nominated for a Grammy for the 9th time. For the kiddies who might not know who he is, he is metal/grunge/rock royalty. Best known as the founder, songwriter, lead guitarist and co-lead vocalist of Alice in Chains. A trail blazer living legend musician who's name sits comfortably amongst the best 90's grunge maestros Chris Cornell, Eddie Vedder, Layne Staley and Kurt Cobain. So awesome to see Jerry in this video.
@heatherjo9895 жыл бұрын
F Aye! ..Facts brother indeed. Hope the young kids see your comment lol. Real talk.. Theyve got robbed every f year since 93,4,5,6.. and now. Why he he quit going to award shows after 94 grammies i think. Deff best rock/metal band then And Now. An the greatest band comeback ever..cause Their still slayn audiences an Successfully! 😎🌟 True f master at his craft indeed. Vedder is deff grunge. Nirvana punk. AIC Metal..for those days no doubt.. Soundgarden..metal/grunge/etc.. One thing also that makes AIC the greatest Band,. Grunge was a style of blue collared Americans (why so relatable) .."Grunge " didn't exist yet lol But PJ is deff the embodiment of that. But the second AIC stars playing their guitars ,drums, you, f Everyone Knows who the f it is Most complimented voice Duo Specially for metal then. Jerrys the matyre to Laynes lark voice. Perfection. and honestly..f pioneer of "grunge writing and songs" BEFORE it even existed or least was "titled every where then:. (Mtv, rolling stone) no one relevant today or then lol. Wouldn't be PJ with out them no doubt And Alot of other iconic bands. Jerrys legit one the best song writers of all time and most sought after guitarists. Even with fame..still gives us all that f 90s is King nostalgia back 😎 Forever greatful an the most "rock star " mfr to live. Co founded AIC, Wrote most tracks Lost layne Solos didn t do better than the band of course, But f dude brought another chill blue collared dude to Jam an continue doing what they love ..at Their age. Successfully..slayn audiences ,sold out shows,and f great albums as usual. No band in history of bands honestly ever nor could ever make the comeback they did. Black gives way to blue tells that. This f guy and rest band should already been in RRHOF..before nirvana, PJ etc. Their great, each their own but fuck..literally pioneeres and we only had those other bands cuz them an inspiration some sort of way. Diff genres no comparisons just wish they'd get them in there specially Jerry before I die or in a home. Past due and over due.

@gardenofgrey63575 жыл бұрын
ummm...maybe I was reading that out of context, but Layne Staley was the lead vocalist of Alice in Chains and my apologies but I considered Cantrell and Staley more of a "team" of trail blazers...maybe its me, but without Cantrell, there was no Staley...in the 90's, I NEVER ONCE considered AiC part of that "Grunge" movement...their music was by far heavier and aggressive (ie. Facelift and Dirt) and not as abstract...as you can tell, being a metal musician in the late 80's / early 90's, I never really grasped the concept of Grunge as to me it seemed a little "artsy"...AiC where more connected to the heavier side (Monsters of Rock)and with other Seattle metal bands (Forced Entry...they appeared in F.E.'s vid "Never a Know, But the No")...so yeah, for me I have always considered AiC to be "un-grunge"...props to Cantrell for his acting in this

Leigh Kaan I think the humor in this videos is flying over the heads of many of you. His guitar skills were being questioned but he thought that his Plumbing skills were being questioned so he responded to it by defending his Plumbing skills and what made it even funnier was the fact that he was so flippant about something that takes a lot of skill (Plumbing). "That's Plumbing in a nutshell" made his flippant description of the complexities of Plumbing even more funny, and "in a nutshell" is a very common term. You might as well say that when he says the word "would", that it's an aic reference also. And if you think about it, if they were trying to script an aic song reference, it would have been far more obvious like "hey you're treating me like a man in a box" or something like that. Saying that it's an Alice in Chains song reference.... Just because they have a song called nutshell, is just so unbelievably derpy. People's excitement about letting everyone know that they know that Alice in Chains has a song called nutshell is overriding their ability to think

The harmonies between Jerry and Layne as well as the way they were so symbiotic as they sang, were a thing of beauty and goes unrecognized by most. Listen to a song and pay particular attention to Jerrys voice and listen to how he seamlessly fills in gaps in a song or in a particular lyric for Layne if you need visuals watch the mtv unplugged. Live Version and you'll catch what Im saying. And those vocal harmonies between the two are. Just the perfect pitch and wavelength. As if they were meant to sing together.
