Dad eats Moruga Scorpion & Ghost peppers +8 more : The 10 Hot Pepper Challenge, Crude Brothers

J does the same 10 pepper challenge as 11-year-old Nick did last week and gets crushed by the capsaicin caravan, eating up the scoville scale - some of the hottest peppers in the world, including Ghost and Trinidad Moruga Scorpion peppers. Carolina Reaper is now the absolute hottest of all. We eat those in our most popular video, released 8 months after this one.

I had a Serrano pepper today and it wasn't all that hot, but the problem was, every time I swallowed, it made my throat itch and feel scratchy. It also tasted very grassy. Didn't taste well. I spit it out because I couldn't enjoy it. It wasn't even that hot though. I took a bite from a Habanero pepper and it tasted like SHIT, but it was hot af!

You have to take into consideration the ripened stages of peppers which gives them the flex of schoval units. That banana pepper was a good yellow color, so it was nicely ripened. Serano peppers if left out long enough, maybe a week - 2 weeks you will see them change to a beautiful red color, which I believe they also become spicier/hotter. Some basic research and experimenting you can try peppers at different stages, not only do they change in heat, but also flavor too. You will notice peppers usually taste better when ripened more. Good thing you had milk. Milk does contain a specific enzyme that helps counteract what makes peppers spicy, however it does help, it seems to lose its efficiency at about the Serano - Habanero range. Cheeses and ice cream that contain dairy/milk also help. When eating peppers, people should know not to consume anything high in acidity as it only stokes the flames so to speak. So if you're trying to extinguish the hottness, milk ONLY. Not water, soda-pop products, lemon or limes, as those will make it worse, and intensify it.
