Not to get serious here, but I lost my dad to the plague in 2020, and this resonated with me. He bought me all my games growing up, played countless hours of Everquest and Guild Wars 2 and WoW, he grew up on Atari and never really stopped loving games, and he passed that on to me. About a year before he died, I bought him Red Dead Redemption 2 for Christmas and then I moved out of state to live with a shitty boyfriend, and while I was there his texts about what he was up to in that game were one of the few things that brought me joy. He wasn't a great dad when I was little, but he tried his best given the situation we were in, and after circumstances cleared up, we were close. Two black sheep of the family, listening to punk music and talking about D&D on long drives. He would have hated these games. But he would have loved this video. Thank you, Pat, for the kind of fatherly insight that really matters: the kind that comes from someone who doesn't really know how to be a dad but would try their best anyways.

I was mowing my grandfather's lawn last year and he still has a lawnmower with a power chord. It was agonising. You really had to plan your path so as to a) get the grass and b) not cut the power chord. The worst task I have ever had to do, I was so afraid the entire time.

Me, coming into this: Definitely read that as D&D game reviews, but eh, whatever I'm here for it.
