One really messed up aspect of this is this wasn't a trap. We see Bill realize what King is in this episode. Before that, everyone's interactions with King were genuine.

At first I was a little confused when it was confirmed King was a titan because I thought “why do these titan-trappers look just like our favourite little guy?” Then it’s revealed that they just dress like titans by wearing their skulls and pelts and my next thought was “these mutherf#@kers are crazy!!”

They really put two of the darkest episodes right in a row. I have to say, the realization that the trappers are all wearing the skulls of King's people/possible relatives was more viscerally upsetting to me than the reveal about the Golden Guards.

Doesn't make it much better, but it's possible that the Titans they killed were around their ages (when it happened, anyway).

One thing that everyone missed on the first time watch, is the true meaning behind welcoming phrase : you got this skull from your father. We all thought it was like "you have your mothers eyes" but no, they literally pass on skull helmets as Titan Trappers heirloom.

I've said it before, but every "King backstory" episode is like watching someone kick a puppy. 9:46 - Notice that Titan skull in the background? It's the same one from the Owl Beast's dream in "Knock Knock Knockin' on Hooty's Door". There's a theory that the Owl Beast might have been the "last living Titan" that Bill was talking about. 13:50 - Continuing the trend of referencing anime and video games, that's the Lance of Longinus from "Neon Genesis Evangelion". 23:37 - We very rarely get any real sense of scale, but it was stated by Dana Terrace that the Boiling Isles is the size of the state of Vermont. Some fans have done math based on what we've seen in the show, and deduced that the Titan is more likely around 32 kilometers tall (approximately 20 miles (19.88 if we're being pedantic)), and figure that Dana's "size of Vermont" statement means the total area of the _entire_ Boiling Isles archipelago, including the surrounding waters and landmasses, and not just the size of the Titan itself.

The Owl beast is an Owl creature, not a Titan. Titans all look roughly the same. There is no "theory that the Owl beast might've been the last living Titan", it's just a weird idea that two people have that makes no sense. And if a Titan Skull was in the background then it was definitely not the "last living". It's made explicitly clear that Bill was talking about King.

Just because he turned out be right in hindsight doesn't mean the initial act was fine. If I push someone down the stairs and they get caught by a random person that just happen to later become the love of their life, it doesn't change the fact that pushing them down the stairs was shitty. So no, Hooty doesn't "deserve" an apology for that.

It makes sense why the paper turned to ashes when luz used it, if king wasnt a titan thst can give the environment magic, than it would stay a peice of paper, but sense he is a baby titan it did activate but hes very little so only a little bit of magic could be used, so sense the spell didn't have enough magic around it, it got turned into ashes

When you realize King is a baby Titan, and realize the full grown Titans were the size of islands, so the skeleton on display, and the room full of skulls...were all children. This cult dressed up as young Titans to get close enough to murder Titan children.
