The story on how rocky initially met joe fox is amazing. In short, rocky recorded the majority of this album in London and he was out one night and a man was selling his cds on the street. rocky was impressed and took him to the studio. That man was joe fox.

Rocky is one of the most underrated rappers ever, his music isn’t lacking in any way. He can rap crazy well, he has a great singing voice, his production is amazing, he always has great features along with giving great feature and on top of all of that he has a great sense of fashion.

@headassyeah I’m very grateful for it. He performed at a festival last year in Ireland called longitude. He was meant to perform there in 2021 but the festival didn’t go ahead because covid but thankfully they went ahead with it last year.

Such an underrated album and a personal favourite of mine, I've always loved how Rocky has never been afraid to experiment with different and more abstract sounds in his albums and this is definitely his best piece of work for me. Really glad you guys gave this a listen.

So glad y'all reacted to this one, this is Rocky's best album imo and a 10/10 and gets massively overshadowed by other amazing 2015 albums like tpab and rodeo. Songs like holy ghost, l$d, excuse me, lpfj2, jukebox joints, and everyday have been in my rotation for so long and what rocky did on this album is heavily underappreciated

My friend used to put this entire album on every time we’d hot box his car. Pharsyde would always come on right about the time that I was starting to for real get high and the song would always sound otherworldly. Still one of my favorite albums to this day and song from that album to this day. Definitely a unique experience and feel in this album.

Fun fact, Joe Fox was actually a street performer London that was wandering around in the middle of night, and gave Asap his CD. Rocky liked so much he asked him to record with him. He helped him launch a music career too!

I wish you had told him more about Joe Fox! He was a homeless at the time and selling CD’s on the street and bumped into Rocky and played some music for him. Rocky then invited him to the studio to come work on the album and he ended contributing on many of the songs!

With ALLA, Rocky managed to give a kind of timelessness to vintage and not very common sounds and that's an art that is within the reach of very few artists. Even someone who doesn't necessarily listen to rap, will find their way because this project ages like good wine and will appeal even to very old people.

I’m really glad your dad put the lyrics away for some of the songs. It’s nice so follow lyrics when you’re listening to a rapper who’s lyrics are the most important thing, but many hip hop artists like Rocky are focused on creating a certain sound and the sonic atmosphere the music is creating is far more important than their pen game.
