In South Korea, as people, Koreans struggled with a lot dealing with North Korea and all; they had a mindset to create a better South Korea. So this entertainment KPop brings in a lot of revenue for their country. KPop is notorious for recruiting young people to create these types of groups, with a strict work ethic. Millions of kids try out for these groups; some critics find the harsh living and working conditions these kids have to go through as wrong. RM made a statement one time, that they wanted to do this, privileged to have the opportunity, and have a work ethic that they, as a people, are accustomed to. It is so hard to see kids go through this, but it was their talent, dedication, and love for one another that got them through the hardships, and now enjoy their global success. One thing for sure, ARMY appreciates and loves these 7 amazing men and what they stand for and their love for us.💜💜💜💜💜💜💜❤

I’m so sorry that you are under the weather but don’t worry, Nesto, you’re not losing it. Jimin joined last but V was revealed to the public last. Jin was upset after their debut performance because his trousers were falling down. Only Jin and SUGA were adults on debut. There are some great choreographies out there but only BTS has consistently interesting choreo. Jimin and Taemin of SHINee are acknowledged as the best dancers in K-Pop. Take care and get well soon.

V came before Jimin. However I saw in a totally different programme an interview with a woman who took part in the audion process for BTS. Shexwas asked about them. She chose a story about V. She said her colleague said V would end up the most handsome member of the group given time as he was physically showing signs of just coming out of puberty. Her tone suggested at the time the rest were dubious. If you look he has that slightly puffy nose teenage boys can get when they are getting great floods of testosterone. His cheekbones and shoulders have not broadened yet. She sounded impressed and amazed that this expert could see that in Vs bones. They check to see candidates have any physical or health problems before they invest in training them. Also Vs tone is highly unusual in Kpop and as he had never origionally intended to audition for Big Hit maybe they thought a bigger agency who could offer more might try to poach him..

I echo your sentiments, Nesto I've lived through the 90's boyband era and fangirled a lot, but BTS is one of a kind 💜 they did spoil us, with quality music and performances and other content even when they're out serving their country some may be over the top, yes, but they never skimp on quality with their hardwork, talent, and dedication to their craft and their fans there's so many talented artists out there, but they're one of the rare ones who've reached the top yet stayed grounded 💜

The group formed since 2011 or 2012, and they debuted in June 2013. Until 2013 they went through a preparation / learning period when they were trained in singing, dancing, etc. Jimin was the last member to join the group of 7 but BigHit kept V a secret right until it was time to debut.

At mark 10:15 , you mentioned that they did not have a normal childhood. This is why I soooooo much appreciate the staff of BTS. The ideas that they come up with in RUN BTS often incorporate games that they would be doing with their friends in a normal setting. Only exception, cameras are following them but at least they can say they experienced paint balling as a teen or young adult, or bungee jumping, going to amusement parks and water parks. Even though it’s still work it helps their mental state. I often think about if The Jackson Five had this same kind of balance with work and play, Michael Jackson probably would have not been the way he was as I believe mentally he had not matured since he began working at such a young age.

ARMY was created after 3 months from their debute. It started with 3,000 registered members. In a short period of time, ARMY grew 10k and after 2 years from debute, they started touring their Red Bullet concert in auditorium of 6k to 30k. They started their stadium concerts with their concert tour Wings in 2017-2018.

Jin was embarrassed and also frustrated and angry at his situation after the debut stage because his mic battery pack, sewn to the back of his waistband, was tugging on his shorts, pulling them down. I've never heard how far down, probably because no one wants to embarrass our sweet Jin. It was enough that he felt it and got upset. The Melon Music Awards, where BTS won Best New Artist, was November 13, 2013, four months after ARMY was formed in July. Idol groups cultivate their fan groups early because some of those awards are based on fans voting.

If you think about the number of awards they've won, I feel marginally bad for other groups trying to gain popularity at the same time but couldn't compare to BTS. I can't imagine what they think at awards shows, like "Why are we even here? BTS is going to win everything anyway."

V joined September 2011, 3 months after Jungkook. Jimin was the last addition to the group, true. December 2012. But V was kept hidden because he was handsome and had an unique tone (there are few baritones in the industry) and BigHit did not want to risk him being snatched by another agency.

Groups like Blackpink and Stray Kids may have came from bigger companies than BigHit but all of them Blackpink, Stray Kids and BTS are all great and make amazing music. Even groups like ASTRO, And the group Tomorrow x together are amazing groups. They may not be your taste or you have grown attached to BTS but these other groups are great. I admit I was that way with BTS and some other groups because I was into SHINee and for me they were the best and only amazing group but then I gave BTS and these other groups a chance and now I'm a fan. You don't have to like these other groups but give them all a chance you may find some other ones you like just as much as BTS.

I've seen Blankpink before BTS. I've seen Stray Kids as Army. I've seen other Kpop bands unintentionally. I did give a couple of them a try. They are very entertaining, but there was usually nothing else past the looks, hype & all. I'm 50 years old, and I was never into Kpop despite it's popularity. It was not really for me, until I stumbled upon BTS. I'm a Dynamite era army, but Spring Day started my descend into the rabbit hole. I wish all artists the best, especially those that work hard to better their crafts and are also good humans. But I am only smitten by BTS, so much so that for the first time in my life I buy albums, stream & connect with other Army. It's beautiful. I'm sure there are so many great artists out there around the world. I hope they flourish. But as for me, BTS connects to me at deeper level, like they are family to me. They make me so happy, proud & inspired. I am a happily married woman with two grown children and a busy carreer, but I make time for BTS because they always make time for Army. 💟

She was a fan before pre-debut and she is actually president of the ARMY fan club. The BTS fandom, known as ARMY, celebrates their birthday on July 9th. Sorry, this is going to be long. Fair warning. LOL Yes, Jimin was the last to join. However, a form of "poaching" was a very real thing in K-Pop. Their "look" (how "cute" a member was) was most coveted, but it could also be based on talent, voice, etc. So, if Company B saw a member of a group they really liked, they would corner them alone and offer "more" (more money, more fame, a bigger role in a group - typically leader status - a solo contract...whatever they felt would work) if they'd leave Company A (their original company) to join Company B. It worked now and then, but those "big" promises often fell through. Even way back then, BigHit, specifically Bang PD, KNEW what they had in V...and they weren't taking any chances of him getting poached, so he was simply the last to be revealed to the public. As for ARMY - their fanbase - it was known back at debut, but it wasn't PUBLICLY announced until June 9...just about 3 weeks after their debut. They actually tossed out a couple ideas for their fandom name. NOTE: We were almost the Bells. YIKES! SO glad they went with ARMY instead! LOL And yes, I know what you mean about other groups!!! While I do like quite a few songs by other K-Pop artists, the dancer in me is addicted to BTS. That said, there are actually a few other "boy bands" that do go pretty hard. Alternately, a lot of the girl groups, while their choreo is still intricate and detailed, it's just more..."cute-sy" rather than "powerful". South Korea is still (somewhat) rigid on gender roles. Women are supposed to be seen as small "ultra-feminine", "adorable", etc. beings, while being "manly" is cherished for, of course, the males. So, for a female artist/group to have more powerful moves...well, it's not that it doesn't happen, it's just...really rare. FYI: Daesang = "Grand Prize". For Asian award shows, at that time, the 4 daesangs were: Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year, and Worldwide Icon (the artist/group had to be well-known outside of South Korea). If I remember correctly, since K-Pop (in general) has gained such a large following outside of South Korea now, I think they did away with Worldwide Icon these days, but I could be wrong on that... All in all, BTS was...IS...like trying to catch smoke with your bare hands. BigHit believed in them. They believed in themselves. We believed in them. While there are other popular groups out there, of course, there is just something...different...about BTS, and it shows.

Hi Nestor. I understand how you feel. No hate to other groups but they are just lacking. I saw three other groups before BTS but decided kpop was not for me. Then I saw BTS and was blown away. I went back to try the other groups again was disappointed. They just don’t have what BTS has. I’m not a fan of kpop at all just a fan of BTS. I especially cannot tolerate girl groups and all the guys as well as girl groups sounds just a like. This can never be said about BTS. They will never be mistaken for anyone. There is no one line BTS.
