Both Japan and Korea do Christmas. In Japan, there are only 2 percent Christians, so it is mainly a secular holiday. In fact, Christmas is seen as a romantic date night there because the New Year's celebration is the big family event. In Korea, about 25 percent of the population is Christian, so there it's celebrated both religiously and secularly.

So from what I know from my Korean friends generally Christmas has been more for couples in Korea except for idols especially BTS just today j-hope and Jin 2seok did a Christmas live where they just joked around and decorated little Christmas trees! And they even talked about this performance😂 it was so fun!

I am sorry for your pain. Last year I travelled to bolivia to spend christmas with my family. My uncle died on the 24th and I found comfort in the fact, that I got to spend the time with my relatives. So, take care and enjoy all the love you can get.

First Nesto never let the channel come before family and obligations…we will be here tomorrow or the next day…we are here for the real ones💜and we know you will get to it when time permits. Secondly I am so sorry about your uncle. I will pray for healing, comfort and strength in the the coming days for you and your family. This is my favorite of their Christmas performances. The Korean version of Silent Night always makes me ugly cry, I don't know why. So beautiful. This came out around the time of my husband's passing in December 2019 and it was a bright spot in that first Christmas without him. Holding your uncle in the light, Nesto. He is clearly loved and that means everything as people transition into the next life.

6:00 I know Korea celebrates Chuseok, which is basically the Korean version of Thanksgiving. It lasts about 3 days. It's basically a time where Koreans remember their ancestors. Next year, Chuseok will be on October 6th. I'm not sure if it's always in October, so correct me if I'm wrong! And South Korea does celebrate Christmas!💜 Please correct me if any of the information is wrong since I'm not 100% sure!

Truly sorry about your uncle. 🥺 It's always hard to lose someone dear to you no matter the season but especially during the holidays. People are often so quick to judge others for things that literally do not concern or impact them and I will never understand that kind of groundless hatred. South Korea is the only East Asian country that recognises Christmas, or Sung Tan Jul, as a national holiday. Although most Koreans get the day off to sit back and relax with their loved ones, it is not a traditional holiday like Seollal or Chuseok. Your uncle and family are in my thoughts and prayers.

Hey Nesto, I’m sorry about your uncle. I can relate SO much to you at this moment, my uncle who I’ve spent more time with him than my own dad passed away on New Years 5 years ago now due to cancer at only 40 years old. It’s really easy to get super emotional around this time around. My uncle had a similar personality to yours: so nice, fun to be around and most importantly he LOVED life and kept trying until the last second. No matter how much time passes, it never gets easier to forget your loved ones💜❤️

December is a difficult month. You do a day at a time, sometimes an hour at a time, just to get through until it gets a bit easier and hurts a little easier.
