You've mistaken the lyrics. "Do whatever you want, but respect your mother and father". Thats the real meaning. Seventeen is known as one of the most respect and polite idols. They're like the social butterfly idols. They respect older people and adore younger people. Thats why many senior and junior idols love them. Btw Seventeen has 13 members and they're so close to each members' parents as well. Here in this video is the sub unit of Seventeen with 3 members which is called BSS (BooSeokSoon). Their songs always have cheerful and happy vibes. You can check another song like FIGHTING. Anyway, I hope you can react to other Seventeen songs. Cause they have so many good songs and choreos ☺️

I know CBZ is very confusing for non Koreans, others already explained the acronym and the main meaning of the song. I just want to clarify the line that you quoted but misunderstood, “do whatever you want, who cares. Except one thing, mother’s nagging” they actually repeat this line in the next verse but changed it to father’s nagging. The correct translation of the lyrics is “do whatever you want, don’t mind other people except for what your parents tell you”. They didn’t encourage rebellious teenagers, what they were saying is enjoy life, do whatever makes you happy but always listen to your parents even if it sounds like they are nagging. The subtitle provided the actual translation of the lyrics just like CBZ “Youth is now” but in the song title they used “Prime Time” to translate it not Youth is now as Prime Time is more suitable to what the meaning of the song is.

They are BSS (BooSeokSoon), a unit of 3 members of Seventeen which is composed of 13 people. BSS style is very upbeat and bright. CBZ means Jeans but it is also stands for "Youth is now" in korean language. The last come back of the 13 members were late 2024 with the title track: Love, money, fame. I also recommend Maestro (with 13 people).

Seventeen are still together as a group and this is just one of their sub units. every now and then they release sub unit songs/albums in between comebacks (new album release). Just recently experienced their 2-day concert here in the Philippines for the first time and my brains were blowwwn away by their performance and chaotic energy!

BSS is absolutely NOT condoning being disrespectful to parents or elders here!!! The meaning is more about enjoying and cherishing the feeling of youth right now, no matter how old you are. In Korea (as well as many other parts of the world, I'm sure), many young adults, to even way older great grandparents, feel like "youth" is only for the very young, and they can sometimes lose it along the way with all the pressures of growing up and adulthood. That is what BSS is going against in this MV, the idea that youth is only for kids, because they want everybody, of every age, to feel like they are in the prime of their life ("Prime time"), "Youth is Now". Also, just as an aside, every single member of Seventeen is not only extremely close and have a good relationship with their own families, they mostly all are adopted to each of the other member's families as well! 🥰 There are tons of stories of certain members going fishing, going out to eat, or just spending time with another member's parents, when that son isn't even there!!! 😂 Many of the parents are also very active with attending concerts, pop-ups, fan-signs, etc., and are often visiting the members, even overseas, or when they have time off. Even in interviews, and among the industry (like hosts, producers, directors, etc.), it is no secret that Seventeen members are very well-known to be filial, dutiful, and extremely good sons (which may sound old fashioned, but I think its one of their big charms, and is a huge deal in Korea), and have always been known to be amongst the top most polite, well mannered, and respectable idols/celebrities around.

I didn't see anyone explicitly say this but the opening subtitle saying that this wasn't about any real events or people was because South Korea just had a massive uprise against their president after he tried to enact martial law, and he was impeached, protests being led mostly by the younger demographic (& kpop fans hilariously). They had to delay this release and say that it had nothing to do with the recent protests because of that happening, this could be easily misconstrued as a song related to current political events.

Hi Nesto, Just wanna answer some questions in your video. 1. All 13 members are still together. 2. Not all members are in this song. This is a unit song by BSS, which are the 3 members you see there. 3. The song name CBZ stands for “Cheong-ju Ba-reom Zi-geum”, which means “Youth is Now”. It’s the tagline you hear in the chorus. 4. The part where they said “Do what you want … except mother’s nagging” doesn’t mean ignore what mom says. It actually means ignore what people say, but don’t ignore what parents say. Seventeen members are actually known to be close to their parents, and even to each other’s parents. Have a nice weekend! Love your videos. Borahae 💜💜💜

NESTO!! As stated above (#3), CBZ is the shortened version of that phrase, and is a play on words! The phrase is shortened to “CheongBaZi” which means “youth is now” but also sounds like the Korean word for (blue) jeans, as well. That’s why the English name of the song is CBZ or Jeans for short.

Just in case someone hasn't said this, BSS is know for these catchy, boppy, fun - make you want to just get up and join-in songs. The first one was "Just Do It", then there was "Fighting", and now "CBZ". These songs are so carefree it is not uncommon to see other idols just jump in a dance to them at award shows.

This is the subunit of SVT, BSS, DK, the one with he dark hair, is the leader of this unit, the one at the end in the middle with the shorter blonde hair is Hoshi, the performance leader, and the third one was Seungkwan, my favorite vocalist of the group. Super, the other MV you reacted to was only a couple yrs ago, so not sure what you mean by back in the day... They are 100% still together. One is in the military and another is working on a Cdrama, at last that's what I read before their concert her in TX at the end of last yr and that's why they couldn't make the tour. I recommend watching their Dingo Killing Voice episode. That's a great way to hear their talents and see their personalities. Just don't mind Wonwoo not doing a lot, the one with the glasses. Prior to that performance he had lost his mom and wasn't completely rehearsed for that time. BTW, if your interested in knowing their names, I can give it to you in the order they start on that Dingo episode... Jeonghan(Vocal) - S.Coups(Leader of the group and the HipHop unit) - Jun(Performance) - Hoshi(Leader of the Performance unit) - DK(Vocal, BSS Leader) - Woozi(Leader of the Vocal unit) - Wonoo(HipHop) - Seungkwan(Vocal) - The8(Performance)- Mingyu(HipHop) - Joshua(Vocal) - Vernon(HipHop) - Dino(Performance). Yes, they move around a little, but start off in this line-up and mostly stay in that are. I also recommend BTOB (Born TO Beat) Killing Voice. The are my top 2 faves for sure.

This is the subunit of svt BSS which stands for BooSeokSoon. Seventeen didnt disband 😂 😂. This subunit sually has entertaining, refreshing and relatable songs. Seventeen has many subunits. Performance unit, vocal unit, and hip hop unit. Just like in BTS where we have a rapper line and a vocal line. But in addition to these 3 units the other subunits are BSS, The leaders' unit (each unit has a leader), and now we are having another unit about to debut. The producer Woozi and the choregrapher Hoshi, they will debut as another unit right now. I suppose being a BTS fan you might like energetic songs, so you can definitely check out the hip hop unit songs like lalali, fire and many more. As a whole group I would recommend to frst watch their killing voice then Maestro, Hot, Getting Closer, Hit and Fear

6:00 lmao i think your interpretation of the lyrics is a little off right there. They’re basically saying don’t care about what other people have to say, be you, because youth is now! But listen to your parents’ nagging lol. Also the title CBZ is an acronym for youth is now/ prime time but it sounds like the Korean word for jeans. That’s why they’re in full denim, doing moves like they’re putting on jeans and throwing them at everyone lol. “Life is like puberty” in this (cultural) context refers more to the emotional side of the process of puberty. You get stressed, things are changing constantly, you realize that you don’t know anything about the world and cry all the time :)

The subtitles were correct 😁CBZ and BSS were just acronyms. CBZ is CheongBaJi which are jeans in Korean. BSS is a subunit of Seventeen, its only 3 members and they have been releasing music just the 3 of them for a few years. BSS stands for BooSeokSoon which is a combination of the 3 members names, you can hear it in the beginning of the song when they introduce themselves.

BSS is the name of this special sub-unit from Seventeen. It stands for Boo Seok Soon, the surnames of its three members, Seungkwan, DK and Hoshi. Seventeen is still together with all 13 members, although they started to enlist in the military so it will be awhile until we have them all together again. The group is two years younger than BTS in terms of debut date. This song's English name is CBZ - Prime Time and CBZ is a wordplay. It means Cheong Ba Ji, or "Jeans" in Korean but it is also an acronym for the expression Cheongchuneun Baro Jigeum - that means "Youth is Now".
@macfv131315 күн бұрын
it's actually Seungkwan's surname only (Boo).. Seok is from DK's first name Seokmin (his surname is Lee), and Soon from Hoshi's Soonyoung (surname Kwon).

Kind of, but not exactly... So, Seventeen has 3 group UNITS (and every member is a part of only one): - Hip Hop (S. Coups, Wonwoo, Mingyu, Vernon) - Performance (Hoshi, Jun, The8, Dino) - Vocal (Woozi, Jeonghan, Joshua, DK, Seungkwan) But, they also currently have 3 OFFICIAL SUB-UNITS (and countless other duos, combos, lines, etc., but only the following ones are considered official, as of Jan. 2025. As you can see by Hoshi, members can be in multiples of these.): - BSS or BooSeokSoon (Seungkwan, DK, Hoshi) - SVT Leaders (S. Coups', Hoshi, Woozi) - JxW (Jeonghan & Wonwoo) (*plus another one with Hoshi & Woozi will be officially debuting within the next few months)
