@@c.m.b.7567 NFR! is a borderline (and on some days I might say outright) masterpiece, I think it’s just as good as HM if not better. Lyrically it’s easily her best work and vocally, sonically, melodically just so good. Lana does concept albums really well and NFR! manages to be the best concept bc it’s not only genius but it’s also not reliant on the concept to be an enjoyable album (whereas with albums like UV & HM you really have to follow the concept to “get” the music and the flow as a whole). But I digress. NFR! receives plenty of praise, I’m not offended by some people disliking it. And every Lana album is so singularly unique that I can totally understand such a diversity of opinion on them.

You’re so right about the strange indescribable feeling Lana’s music gives you. That’s the magic about her art, you keep coming back over and over again because you get addicted to it. It’s a somehow luring darkness she creates that is sadness and nostalgia and glam all at the same time. She adds a mystic beauty you can find in the melancholia of her songs.

norman fucking rockwell is my most replayed album of all times. i cant count the amount of hours i've spent on the beach, listening to venice bitch or the greatest on repeat, just closing my eyes and enjoying lana's angelic voice without never get tired of it. i think it's her best and most mature piece of work so far. i remember not liking it at first, thinking that all the songs sounded the same. i just kept using it as a background music when i was reading books (just because lana's sweet voice fitted well the late night reading sessions) and then it kept growing on me and it became my all time favorite. when it sounds at first like a chill record, that you can jam to or use as a background music it is actually a result of hard work and well-thought composition of music where every element of the instrumentation is so precisely researched and well paced in the song, in resonance with lana's beautiful voice and great, mature writing. it's an album that is so perfect to listen as a whole and you have to let yourself getting transported by the eerie, dreamy vibe of it to enjoy the experience even more. so thanks for reacting to my favorite record and giving an honest, spotaneous reaction to it, as always :) if you guys like rock music (which i think you do), i recommend you to listen to ultraviolence, another masterpiece of lana with heavy instrumentation, lots of basses, and a very assumed excentric style. (or also born to die, if you want more experimental music)

Yeah dude NFR is one of her best. It’s mature, and Lana really showing once again why she is an icon. So many tracks that are amazing but if I had to pick my favorite would probably be Happiness is a Butterfly. Ultraviolence is her rebellious, wild side. Lana is pissed off at something lol amazing album that follows Born to Die so there was a high expectation and she knocked it out of the park. Favorite track probably Brooklyn Baby but it’s a close call, so many good ones on this album. Born to Die is unbeatable IMO, her breakthrough album that put her on the map overnight. Hands down her best work, favorite track probably Radio or Summertime Sadness. Would listen ten times over. Honeymoon is a good album, released very shortly after Ultraviolence. Not a let down per say, but there are a few tracks I would skip. Favorite track is Honeymoon. Lust for Life is okay, a couple tracks I’m not a fan of. Favorite track is White Mustang. Chemtrails Over the Country Club is a fantastic album, Lana has found happiness and it shows in this album. It’s definitely her most uplifting album. The first 5 songs are solid, highly recommend giving it a listen. Favorite track probably Let Me Love Like A Woman or Wild at Heart. Blue Bannisters I haven’t gotten the chance to dive into, so if anyone recommends some tracks off of it let me know!
@ashokbabu6942 жыл бұрын
If you were to listen to Blue Banisters, start with Black Bathing Suit, Thunder, Dealer, Nectar of the Gods and Wildflower Wildfire. These are some of the best tracks of the record. The album is not as rebellious as UV or popular as NFR, but it has its own elements that are appreciable. I didn't like the album much the very first time that I listened to it, but slowly I started to like it. I'd say it's a step up from COCC.

The album is one that grows on you with repeated listens, it took me about 3 or 4 before I fully appreciated it, the lyricism, the emotions. I also cried at a few of the songs at various times when it hits just right

For me, nothing Lana has ever done matches the classiness, the beauty, the depth & the perfection of this album. Every single note is just the right one, where it's supposed to be, evoking this aura of loneliness, romanticism, yearning & the bittersweet memories of lifelong friendships. It would definitely be in my list of top ten best albums of all time. The production & combinations of acoustic guitar, piano & synths, not to mention the stellar lyrics that places the listener inside a story, all add up to one fine CLASSIC album that holds together as a unified whole. The moods are chill ecstasy !!

i think they may have missed the mark a little bit regarding track 9, california. her lines of seeming uncertainty is her covering up how much she is truly is longing for him coming back. she’s trying to seem nonchalant about it by saying things like “you should just hit me up” but her desperation reveals itself shortly after in lines like “we’ll do whatever you want, travel wherever” and “your favorite liquor off the top shelf, we’ll have a party all night long”. she’s TRYing not to cling. but she wants him back badly. and this is what makes the track so interesting. it has depth that isn’t blatantly sung; it’s realized by the listener in it’s time if it is
@chrisklar91032 жыл бұрын
The depth is also revealing in the metaphorical meaning of him coming back: out of his blues, coming back to california means getting over his struggles and Depression and Just having a good time again together. But she knows this will Not happen

Connor I had no idea you listened to Lana, but I've been suggesting & hoping for a Lana reaction for just about over a year now, and to see this come up in my feed, I just feel like I'm dreaming. Thank you for this. You literally made my entire month, if not year. Please make this a Lana series like you did with Ye & go over her entire catalog! Much love & respect to you two
