In this video I make awesome, wholesome treats for my dogs.
Here's the recipe:
Pumpkin Peanut Butter Dog Biscuits
2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1/2 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup canned pumpkin puree
1/4 cup peanut butter
1 large egg
1/2 cup water
Preheat your oven to 350°F.. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the whole wheat flour and rolled oats.
Add the canned pumpkin puree, natural peanut butter, and large egg to the dry ingredients. Mix well until a dough forms.
Gradually add the water to the dough, mixing until it reaches a consistency that is easy to work with and roll out.
On a floured surface, roll out the dough to a thickness of about 1/4 inch.
Use cookie cutters to cut out desired shapes. Alternatively, you can use a knife to cut the dough into squares or rectangles.
Place the dog biscuits on the prepared baking sheet, ensuring they are not touching each other.
Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown and firm. They should be very hard, if they are still soft, continue cooking until they are hard. If they are soft, they will be more susceptible to spoiling.
Remove from the oven and let the biscuits cool completely on a wire rack.
Store the biscuits in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks or freeze for longer storage. Note: Be aware that some peanut butters have artificial sweeteners that may be poisonous to animals. Always consult with your veterinarian before introducing new foods or treats to your dog's diet. This recipe has been adapted for human consumption, so please ensure it is safe for your furry friend before serving.
