Sorry for getting kinda "technical" on this lol I think is bc Japanese language pronunciation is generally soft and simple to the ear, so is more "comforting" (didn't find another word to describe it) to hear the screams Plus, the artists are fucking geniuses

And Yoshiatsu continues to prove why he's one of the best current vocalists in the VK scene. Those harsh vocals are refined as hell, and his diction is superb. Clean singing is lovely as well
@metalbacon6669 жыл бұрын
+Devonshire Pee I do not disagree that his Harsh Vocals are really damn good. But as a matter of opinion I think Hiro from Nocturnal Bloodlust has a much better range and is a bit more crisp in sound especially in his highs. Still though this dude is damn good.
@dumithegreat38929 жыл бұрын
metalbacon666 I'm actually well versed with Hiro's voice as well. :D I really like his upper range, but it has a totally different sound to Yoshiatsu's. Yoshiatsu has a lighter, more effeminate sound to his mid-high notes, while Hiro's voice is a tiny bit boyish and light, but still retains a bit more weight in the 4th and 5th octave. If I can remember correctly, they also both have the same highest screamed note, a Bb6. Hiro's from Desperate, and Yoshiatsu's from Belka to Strelka live. They're both great vocalists
@metalbacon6669 жыл бұрын
There is definitely a huge difference in their vocal styles. If you mean their tone of being effeminate and boyish via their regular singing I could not agree more. Harsh lyrics wise Yoshiatsu kind of reminds me of Bury Your Dead due to the yelling nature of most of his lows while Hiro goes for the more Deathcore guttural growls like Carnifex, Substructure or Suicide Silence. Both have there appeal and is great that they are so different. I just found out about Dadaroma and I am pleasantly pleased by their music and will be checking out their other songs. Any recommendations for other VK bands along the lines of NB and Dadaroma?
@dumithegreat38929 жыл бұрын
***** Idk, from the tracks I've heard Asagi's voice sounds pretty average. Not bad at all, but he doesn't strike me as having a huge or powerful range. He actually has a very calm and pleasant mid-high range, and a brilliant falsetto. Nothing powerful or striking, but awesome singer nonetheless.

Like an endless night where we dance languidly This era and its words clasp my neck. The childish dream to which can not return The childish dream to which can not return The dreams and the vision that made me burn with passion are… Quietly, quietly, quietly kill me, put an end to me. But now, embracing my flickering hope I’ll fall. The motivation replicated in my right hand is like the night in which you sadly meet my eyes. This morning I opened my eyes and it was all grey, even the red sofa in the room I got used to see was grey. And then I realized that the dream had ended, I was just holding a roll of bills in my right hand. Quietly, quietly, quietly kill me before a new day comes. Ah, I would like to hold onto those peaceful days And just fall asleep in this place. The childish dream to which can not return The childish dream to which can not return LUCID DREAM After hurting you, what will be the next dream now? Even love, even my voice, everyone, just disappear already! Ah, in the starry sky, the me I imagined, that song and that promise…

As much as I love this song, I can't help but think of the damage Yoshiatsu is doing to his throat with all the screaming. I know that Dir En Grey's vocalist has had problems with his voice for that reason, so I can't help but be concerned
@gothchick28 жыл бұрын
it all depends on the technique. if you do it properly it's much less damaging. kyo was using improper technique in his early career. He's been screaming the "right" way for several years now, thankfully. I'm not sure if this guy is using improper or proper technique.
@mei68728 жыл бұрын
+Lellewyen x3 (Dir En Grey big fan here) Kyo wasnt using the wrong technique because the screaming doesnt have a healthy way to do it sadly. Kyo had his vocal problems because of his way of singing because he wants his voice to sound 'dark' I dont know if you know what Im trying to say and Plus Screaming will do damage to your vocal cords anyway. But with good care and drinking a lot of water can help. And Kyo is a stubborn person(but so sweet omg lol) and he didnt take care of his vocal cords properly.
@gothchick28 жыл бұрын
***** well, my boyfriend is a metal vocalist and the "proper" way to do it is from the diaphragm. I'm also a huge diru. I know that you mean by the "dark" sound. He's trying to make his voice sound that way and it's damaging. Screaming from the diaphragm still can cause stress over time, but again, it's significantly less damaging. Omg yes he's stubborn lol. That is the definite truth xD Water is a must, and kyo doesn't drink it often on stage which is a biiiggggg no no for any vocalist, especially a screamer.
@mei68728 жыл бұрын
+Lellewyen x3 Well to do Kyo's voice you need to sing from the diaphragm right? then why he wont use that technique when screaming? I insist in that Kyo didnt take care of his vocal cords properly because omg he can be damn big Stubborn ball ;-;
@gothchick28 жыл бұрын
***** yeah, that's right. I think he uses it now, but in the past he probably just didn't know. Many starting vocalists don't know to use the diaphragm until it's too late. Kyo was an example v.v I agree with you. He's incredibly stubborn >_
